how do I open http.conf and change/fix something in it?
how do I save it?
where can I find a site with some info and commands

uhh if you gotta ask don't do it on a server you are hosting anyone on.

cd usr/local/apache/conf

then pico httpd.conf

That depends on the server setup. Some CP will store its apache on different control panel. I believe by default redhat installs apache under /etc

mkdir newfolder

With due respect, I suggest you first read an introductory book on Linux and then try the man pages and then try linuxdoc.org and if nothing works ask here.

While every one here tries to be polite it is not fair to waste the time of genuinely helpful experts with trivial questions

no I have techies..but I just want to learn linux myself..and thought you could give me some tips.
