Apologies if this is in the wrong forum weren’t sure which forum to post in...

I recently bought a QuickSSL Certificate from Rackshack.net and successfully installed it my current web host. I have decided to leave my web host provider and was wondering could I take the certificate with me i.e. Install it at my new web host? I emailed GeoTrust a few days ago but still waiting for a reply.

Thanks for any help :)

Oh yeah. That shouldn't be a problem as long as the domain name stays the same. :)

Thanks David@Digisurge for a minute there I thought I would have to buy a brand new certificate :)

As long as the domain stays the same the cert should still be valid

You'll need the RSA Key that was generated with your Certificate Signing request and the Root Certificate and Webserver Certificate that were sent to you from Geotrust. As long as you have those you should be OK.

Just make sure you have a back up of the key itself. The CSR and Cert will not work without the key. If they delete your site/server that has the key, basically, your cert is lost without that backup.

A minute too late. :)
