View Full Version : List of control panels?
boron 04-02-2007, 06:58 AM I know there is a list of control panels somewhere on Webhostingtalk but I just can't find it.
Can someone post a list of control panels in this form:
domain/contriol panel, e.g. http://domainDOTcom/cpanel
I need it to check access on one computer with partly restricted acces to control panels.

dumpster 04-03-2007, 04:55 AM Hello. As far as I know a lot of web hosting companies provide custom control panels.
Richard-Buzz 04-03-2007, 06:23 AM ServerCP (http://www.zervex.com/) [demos (http://www.zervex.com/index-3.html)]
boron 04-03-2007, 08:15 AM @dumpster : Hm, I have to consider this in the future. My problem is not with control panels themselves, but with access from some public places - restrictions to use ports from :2xxx (:2082 for cPanel) to :4xxx or so.)
The demo from Richard anderson example showed me this again.
Two good posts above :) .
Richard-Buzz 04-03-2007, 08:21 AM boron,
If I remember correctly (Been along time since I have setup ServerCP) you can change the ports it uses.
boron 04-03-2007, 08:52 AM I have no acces to anything from some places (only pure internet - can't even get into Windows or anything). Tools/Internet option in most cases is : "access denied, you don't have privill..." But this is not a big issue, since I CAN open all control panels from other places.
Richard-Buzz 04-03-2007, 08:55 AM Ahh. I see, all non standard ports are blocked?
boron 04-03-2007, 09:27 AM I guess. I can't access MSN messenger for instance, but I can use webmessenger. I was hoping there is some trick with control panels also.
Richard-Buzz 04-03-2007, 09:31 AM boron,
Just to check something out, I blocked all non-standard ports on my computer, and tried to get onto WHM using a web based proxy, such as phproxy.org, I uploaded my own version to a private area of one of my servers, and I was able to log into WHM fine.
It might be worth looking into if you are unable to get onto control panels in the normal way, using a web based proxy works fine for me even when the ports are blocked on the local connection.
boron 04-03-2007, 09:51 AM What should I do? How can I find out if this works on my end?
Richard-Buzz 04-03-2007, 09:55 AM boron,
If you have a hosting account somewhere, you can download PHProxy (http://whitefyre.com/poxy/) and try it for yourself, just make sure you password protect the directory, so your account is not abused.

I know something that's been discussed a few times is cPanel Proxy ( http://cpanelproxy.net/ ). It's not produced by cPanel, Inc. but it does allow access to cPanel/WHM over port 80 and I've noticed others recommending it on various forums in the past.
boron 04-03-2007, 10:38 AM Ok, now it seems almost cPanel itself came to me :D , :), I will read above instructions. If this will work - I will have all PC-related things web based: mail, messenger, text editor (Thinkfree.com), cpanel...
