Hi guys,

A couple of people on here expressed an interest in my ‘Virtual Phone Exchange’ system. Well, the control panel is now finished, and I’m after people/companies to test the system out.

All that will be needed (at a minimum) is a copy of X-Lite (softphone) and a headset.

The system is free while being trialled (prices are yet to be finalised, but expected to be around £10/extension with £25 setup fee). The only costs are that of outgoing calls and any geographic numbers obtained.

Once the system goes live, any testers wishing to continue with the service, can do so without having to pay any setup – only paying (half price) extension fees, call costs and any geographic numbers.

If anyone wants to help out with the trial, can they contact me at this address (leigh@midnightsoftware.co.uk).

Its basically a telephone exchange, with extensions, transfers, voicemail etc. One thing it can do which i'm informed that most exchanges can't do is to transfer a call to an outside line.

The pricing for the trial is just the call charges – we will be creating a pdf with all the call charges on it soon. Incoming 0870 and 0845 numbers are free, geographical numbers (such as 0161, 020 etc) are charged at £2.50 +vat per month.

As an example of call charges, the US is 1p per minute, UK landlines are 1.1p peak times and 0.8p offpeak times per minute.

After the trial, charges are likely to be £5 + vat per extension for people who have trialled. This is subject to change, but will not be any higher.

If anyone is interested, email me at leigh@midnightsoftware.co.uk with their name/company/address details and i can set up an account for them.
