Hi,
I am looking for good web hosting company to host my works, which is developed using Dreamweaver UltraDev. I also need subdomain and domain pointers.
Thanks.

Hi kingsley and welcome,
The fact that you use Ultradev is irrelevant to finding a host. Unlike Front Page, it has no specific requirements. Several of us here use it also.
You would do better by posting any particular requirements you might have (other than the sub-domains), or mentioning that you don't require anything special other than the sub domains. That would make it easier to find a match.

That's certainly true, but that he's using UltraDev instead of Dreamweaver at least implies that he wants either ASP or JSP, or perhaps ColdFusion support. Obviously it's not necessary to use any of those technologies when developing a site with UltraDev, but they're really the reason to use it.
Which, of course, makes your point: what we'd need to know to help in finding a host is which of those technologies, if any, he wants to use.

I disagree, Jay, and think you're assuming too much. I use Ultradev and have no need for ASP, JSP, or CFM. It could be true of others as well, and likely is. There are lots of good reasons to use Ultradev other than the support for those 3 file types.

Kingsley, please excuse this drift off topic while we wait for your return to explain your specific needs...

I see your point. Support for database driven sites is most likely the main reason people would upgrade to Deamweaver Ultradev from Dreamwever. However, there can be other reasons, such as the desire to learn how to create database driven sites, the no cost training from Macromedia for all those who upgrade to it, and the fact that upgrades to the latest relase of both levels are the same price, so there is no additional premium (beyond the first) when upgrading.
One of our past presidents in the U.S. (I believe Calvin Coolidge) had a reputation for caution. There is a story about him being on a train and passing a field with sheep that had recently been shorn. An aide made a comment to the effect that it looked like the sheep had their wool removed. Cautious Cal replied something like "from one side, anyway" (meaning the side he could see).
The world is full of infinite possibilities. ;)

Thanks for your opinions :)
I wish to develop database by using UltraDev4. The host should have good reputation, good support and ASP/DSN(access/SQL)/Subdomain/Domain Pointers functions. I think the one in Hostpro looks good (Win2000 package http://www.hostpro.com/hosting/shared/win2k_mission100.html) but I would like to ask for more opinions in this forum. HostPro is recommended by Macromedia for database/Ultradev development.
Thanks.
