View Full Version : This is a Google-related scam, yes?
Shaliza 03-30-2007, 03:23 PM Has anyone received an email lately talking about how you can earn $100-$750 or more [up to or past $3,000] by using a Google kit? It's just called "Earn Gooogle Money".
[By the way, I'm not looking to make quick money. I already have a job.]
cls-igor 03-30-2007, 04:18 PM I dont like receiving emails from people I dont know telling me how to make more money :)
Lanterns 03-30-2007, 07:03 PM Sounds pretty shady to me...
I'd take it with a grain of salt.
siforek 03-31-2007, 05:58 AM Google knows better than to send out something like that.
cls-igor (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=163540), I agree. But even from people I know. LOL
crandall87 03-31-2007, 07:24 AM Ignore every email you get that offers you something. If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is.
Whitesell 03-31-2007, 08:42 AM Scam. don't bite.
infinite_in 04-01-2007, 08:00 AM Google is giving ad beside your email ( gmail ) matching to the keywords, does it not a privacy matter?
markov 04-04-2007, 09:32 AM Truly it sounds to be a scam. Nothing more than that.
Amalia 04-04-2007, 11:20 AM I've received an e-mail with exactly the same title - and haven't had a doubt at all - it is a scam. A bit offtopic (but still connected with e-mails) - somewhere in some other forum (I don't really remember where exactly) I've stumbled upon a very interesting and unknown to me before method of e-mail marketing. Let's say, the e-mail "targets" receive an e-mail with an anonymous and unknown person saying:
"Why have you been calling me these days, asking me questions about the company X? I have nothing to do with them and you are simply torturing me..." and so on, and so on. I'm quoting by memory, I just wanted to show you an example how innovative some marketeers are getting.:)

This same as the spam filter on your server...
Please check http://mail.google.com/mail/help/more.html for details.
infinite_in 04-16-2007, 02:05 AM Yes I have checked that, they have mentioned "When a user opens an email message, computers scan the text and then instantaneously display relevant information that is matched to the text of the message".
That means if I am sending a newsletter or some offering to my clients google is free to show other competitors ads to my client.
HostTitan 04-16-2007, 02:26 AM They've ultimately been extremely clear on the privacy impacts this may have -- which are minimal at best. If you're truly concerned, then just don't use their product... but whether you like it or not companies will shift to target advertising to you. Otherwise, they'll get weeded out by their competition.
Indesicant 04-17-2007, 10:41 AM I didn't recieve any emails about it, But I have seen it before and I've heard that it is a scam, but you can always just remember, If it sounds too good to be true it normally is.
Shaliza 04-18-2007, 10:07 PM I've never had a problem with their mail, but then again, I don't use their service for business reasons.
ahmadnabil 04-19-2007, 04:40 AM I am always doubting in this kind of mails which starts with (earn money, gain money, win money, … etc)
I prefer to neglect them at all
axlarry 04-20-2007, 06:28 AM If it sounds too good too be true.. because it is :D
Shaliza 04-25-2007, 05:28 AM And I think some people missed the part where I said I wasn't trying to make quick money, ha.
