I got the following migration completed notice from bgfWeb:


If you have your own custom nameservers setup (example ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com), you need to update your nameservers to the following IPs.

If running custom nameservers please update your nameserver IP?s to these:
NS1: 69.59.17.171
NS2: 66.36.233.25


I am really confused. I really need your help urgently otherwise more than 400 hosting accounts will be down at the same time. Here's my questions:

1. I have Reseller Accounts at Rachel Server and Sha Server. How can different servers using the same nameservers? This is quite impossible that all 10 servers of bgfweb move to a single server. Anybody knows the details?

2. Since many domains are using 'A' records and 'MX' records point to their hosting accounts, not using nameservers. Anybody know the IP addresses of the new servers.

Since there is no support from bfgweb at this time, I have to wait about 12 hours. I am afraid that all hosting accounts will be down any time.

it appears that Assorted Internet has purchased your host and is/has migrated your accounts to a server or servers located in their own data center. That's why the IPs changed.

If your hosting accounts are all using your own custom name servers, such as ns1.anydemo.com and ns2.anydemo.com, then all you need to do is change the IP's for those name servers at the domain registrar for that domain to the ones you referred to in your post.

If all your hosting accounts were using name servers under a BGFweb domain name, then you probably don't have to do a thing as I would expect that the new owners would carry over the same name server names to make the migration easier.

Since your client domains refer to their configured name servers by NAME and not IP, you shouldn't have to monkey around with changing name servers/IPs on some 400 domain names.

If any of your hosting accounts had *static IPs* those will also change.

As far as name servers vs hosting servers. Those are independent services and it is rather common for a group of web servers to use the same name servers.

I wish you luck with your new host. I would advise making backups of all your accounts, just in case.
