After reading, mostly negative review about hivelocity , i have got more to add. I am currently on the following plan 3.0 Celeron 533MHz FSB Dedicated server. Frequent server issues was something i was tolerating for a long time. I agree to the fact that their online support is outsourced somewhere else. They don't have any clue to what they are talking. They will stop replying all of a sudden. All these are the number which they have provided.

To my surprise all these numbers are forwarded to their toll free number which no one bothers to reply, NOT EVEN THE RECEPTION !!! All extension numbers are bogus and wastage of time.

My server was working fine till and out of nowhere it went down. When contacted their online support they replied me with one of their "canned" replies that a tech guy will look into it and that i should open a ticket. I did as advised and i was told that my server ip was NULL ROUTED by the bandwidth provider for spamming.. This was a big time bogus allegation on me because i DON'T EVEN HAVE A MAIL SERVER installed. There is no question of spamming. They later on said that they have suspended my account. It was a total shock to me. I asked for evidence of the so called "spam" and yes ..you guessed it right..THEY NEVER REPLIED. Calling them up was a waste of time. Average reply time for ticket was 7 hours !! I have screen shots as an evidence.

Your server was rebooted at the time of your original chat it returned to login with out issue as it was consoled when rebooted. I have checked both our billing and abuse department and i do not see any reason that it would be offline for those reasons.

I am going to go login to the server now and take a further look. Please advise of any changes or updates that have recently been done to the server.

Your server is suspended due to multiple issue with spamming. You will be able to contact sales/billing at 9AM EST. There is nothing more technical support will do for you.

Something more to add - Now when i ask them to get my HDD online so that i can backup my data which is accumulating for over 8 months, they say that i need to BUY it for 100 usd + shipping.

We are unable to turn your server back online to recover your data. Your only option is to buy the hard drive from us and have it shipped to you. I have to get with my manager on pricing. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

We are not able to put your server back online for any period of time. We have many customers to consider and we are not willing to risk you getting our ips blocked due to your servers activity. We all have families to feed and your server activity threatens our ability to do that. Please provide Kira with an address you would like this mailed to. The cost for this hdd will be $100 plus shipping.

I just had a talk with Vick R from Hivelocity. He is looking into the matter and assured me of getting this mess resolved after he discusses with Steve, General Manager. he also made me aware of the TOS and AUP.. he was very helpful in answering my questions but he is helpless because its late night in USA now and everyone is back home. he asked me to wait for 7 -8 hours . thanks Vic

I've been with them for more than a year and had multiple (windows) servers. Never had any major problem.

I always use their live chat to fix any issues, reboot or anythign else and most of the time they fix it within an hour. Try their live chat.

i have been using them for around 10 months...The server is not meant for commertial host and hence i never faced big issues.It just had two sites hosted and both belonged to me. Around a month ago server went down and i was told that ip was null routed because of spam. It was a suprise to me because i never use the inbuilt mail server. i have a gmail account and i am more than happy with it. I asked them to uninstall any mail server that is running and they did it. In the "may account" area of their website there used to appear a small red cross icon indicating that "pop" is disabled. Again this time when the ip was null routed i was told that it happened because i spammed... We never do any such stuff and neithr we promote mass mailing/spamming. I asked them to provide me with a copy of the spam with unmodified headers. They didnt provided or they were busy with internal maintenance work. I hoped that things will be resolved amicably after a discusiion in the support ticket area. Unfortunately it didnt happened and i was told to purchase the HDD for a price of 100 USD + shipping. I agreed to it and asked for a payment link from one of thir staff "kira".. She never replied back ... i tried calling her as many as 53 times throughout my night time ( we are +5.50 GMT) left voice mesages but still nothing..no reply...Tried getting in touch with Steve...no luck also... In my morning i tried th online chat again to remind them that they need to ship me the HDD... In the mean time i had two super urgent projects which were completed and were sitting in the HDD...One of them belong to a publishing house in USA. It was really urgent because they have a press release this week and have invested a lot in google adwords/adsence . Hence they needed the site live before the press release. I almost begged KIRA and STEVE and the live chat support guys to give me access for 25 minutes so that i can download the files and subsequent database .. and after that i will send the payment and shiiping charges so that they can **** the HDD to India...In reply Steve told me that he wont get me acccess ... I reply i requested steve that i will get him an ftp account where he can zip those two folders and upload and i will download from my end.The zip file size of this two folders would'nt exceeded 5 mb size....in that way he need not give me any kind of access... He never replied and in fact stopped replying to the ticket.... On the other hand i am been pressurized by this publishing house to get the website live as well as from other clients who had ongoing projects with us. Out of no where i got a mail from an attorney stating that legal actions will be taken if i fail to make the site live for the publishing company..Now i had no other way than to appoint an attorrney to talk on my behalf. He did his best to call up hivel. without any luck.. However he did one good thing of convincing my publishing house client about the situation and get me 5 extra days time to redo all the work which i am currnly doing in my ofice. Today morning i had a talk with Vic who assured me that he will talk with Steve and try to rsolve the situation..i am waiting to see a reply from hivel but i think that can happen only after 10.00 am US time.

The fact of the matter is your ips were null routed directly by our upstream provider. You received spam complaints prior to the nulling yesterday in early March. We are not going to risk you getting any additional ips nulled or black listed by putting you back online for any period of time. We do not do business with spammers. You can bash us all you want but I am sure the customers on our network that are not violating our AUP appreciate us keeping their ips clean.

Right, I'm never convinced about any negative reviews concerning/mentioning abuse issues such as spam. If your server has problems with spam or if you indeed are a spammer it's only right that your server goes offline...

I dont have any mail server installed. It was removed after they discovered security issues with mail enable. Kindly justify your satement with sufficient proof. Show me headers of spam. Show me logs..

I am aware of spam. The hivelocity guys have themself removed the mail server COMPLETELY. There is no question of spamming. Why did he failed to show me the header of one such email that has the server ip.

You dont have to get me online...provide me alternative so that i can recover part/full data that is acumulating there for 8 months.. You have NO RIGHT to block my data..my ongoing projects that are in the HDD.

As stated before. You were null routed by our upstream provider. Your hostility should really directed towards those guys if you think you were wronged. If we un-nulled you ourselves you would still be nulled by the bandwidth provider. You have a reply to your ticket and you can do whatever you want from here.

Looks to me like they gave you an option. Pay $100 + Shipping, provide them a mailing address, and they'll mail you the hard drive.

Take that or leave it, I guess. It don't look like you're in good shape unless you speak with their upstream provider and state your case to them. As their upstream provider is the one who shut you completely off, not HiVelocity.

This issue has ben sorted out mutually. Steve has shipped me the HDD few minutes back and also sent the fedex tracking number Thanks and consider this closed.
