I might just move an account to your service just to check it out. I am not that brave as to go against the wishes of the Minister for War and Finance. ;) Me neither, if you ever get to come over the ditch to Auckland, look me up - It would be good to exchange notes about how to keep them happy - Not an easy job being an insomniac webhost lol - Having the minister of war and finance kept happy is a very critical job.... :D Aussie Bob 07-08-2002, 08:49 PM Originally posted by Samuel Aussie Bob, Very cool Idea and I wish the best to you and your service<S>, good show, nice to see someone thinking out of the box, some of the garbage i've seen lately on this board is just that garbage, thanks for having something that ends up here and is actually positive, but then that's what I've seen from ya for as long as you've been here. Thanks Samuel. Coming from you, that means a lot. :) Magnet Eye 07-08-2002, 09:27 PM WEll, the site loaded fine. the link that wasn't working for me was the enquiring minds link to some thread. I kept getting Page Not Found late last night.... anyway, it works now and all the trees have leaves. -matt :stickout Samuel 07-08-2002, 09:52 PM Hi Bob, Ill hit your site tonight and try to talk to yourself or someone else in setting up an account for one of my local customers. I'll be registered as "Samuel" Suprise! =) edude 07-08-2002, 10:07 PM Aussie so you gave up hosting? or i don't understand what you've done and i read your announcement, wierd.. KualoJo 07-08-2002, 10:15 PM What I don't understand is why you launched it before it was finished... i.e. the buttons at the top done and text etc. If I was a potential client I have to say at the moment I think it would confuse me and perhaps scare me away.... I mean, don't get me wrong its a nice idea, I would just have ensured that it was 100% finished before pushing it out in public. I think its maybe just a little too radical, but then maybe thats a good thing. Who knows these days. Anyway, good luck with it Aussie Bob, I know you'll make it a success :) Otherwise, you can always turn to www.AussieBobEatsHat.com :) Could there be potential there? ;) Samuel 07-08-2002, 10:30 PM It looked 100 percent finished when I view it, and edude, actually go into the forum and read... your post shows you didnt, just noting. KualoJo 07-08-2002, 10:34 PM Originally posted by Samuel It looked 100 percent finished when I view it, and edude, actually go into the forum and read... your post shows you didnt, just noting. Actually I would say that your post shows you didn't read it. In Aussie Bob's announcement he states: Over the next coming weeks, the top section of the forum will be modified to include plan buttons and text etc. Suggesting that it is not "finished" as there are no buttons at the top and text at the top. I have to say with this added it will be a great idea, but I think perhaps this should have been done first as going to httpme.com and seeing just a forum seems kinda weird at the minute... I'm not bashing, just offering an honest personal opinion. edude 07-08-2002, 10:43 PM ok - i understand - pretty interesting concept  Samuel 07-08-2002, 10:53 PM I read enough to know that the service works, has enough information to make a decision etc, I DID read what you quoted btw. Aussie Bob 07-09-2002, 12:08 AM Originally posted by edude Aussie so you gave up hosting? or i don't understand what you've done and i read your announcement, wierd.. Evolution is a gradual process. 1 step at a time. We have a good client base and aren't too worried about aggressive customer acquisition now anyways, so hence the no real mad rush in getting to that part of the site. Orders are still coming in as per normal. :) Aussie Bob 07-09-2002, 12:15 AM Originally posted by jstonehouse [B]What I don't understand is why you launched it before it was finished... i.e. the buttons at the top done and text etc. If I was a potential client I have to say at the moment I think it would confuse me and perhaps scare me away.... I think its maybe just a little too radical, but then maybe thats a good thing. Who knows these days. Nothing is ever 100% finished. It's a continual process of evolution/growth/development etc. We're just in that process right now. Anyway, good luck with it Aussie Bob, I know you'll make it a success :) Thanks. I think I can claim some aspect of total uniqueness. Noone is stupid enough to copy this. :D Otherwise, you can always turn to www.AussieBobEatsHat.com :) Could there be potential there? ;) Let me work on a business model there. If there's $$$$$ to be made there, I'll figure out a way. :D UmBillyCord 07-09-2002, 01:44 AM Thanks. I think I can claim some aspect of total uniqueness. Noone is stupid enough to copy this. Right. Your company is getting more and more successful. Someone will soon copy. Look at Marc's site at MCHost. Not the most revolutionary site, yet the company is very successful, and the poor guys site gets copied what seems to be daily. PS - You may just double the sales of Jelsoft over the months. :) Aussie Bob 07-09-2002, 02:19 AM Originally posted by UmBillyCord [B]Right. Your company is getting more and more successful. It was a bit confusing at first because I didn't quite get what you were doing, but that was only for the first few moments. Great idea. I think it works well, and your idea seems pretty solid. Congrats for coming up with a new and unique way to present your hosting services. I might even sign up for an account to use as a backup or something. :) Aussie Bob 07-09-2002, 05:11 PM Originally posted by VoxKeysGtr Hey Aussie Bob, Visited your site, and it was great. Tis an interesting idea. I may have to play around with that idea, but knowing me, if I do, I'll re-invent the wheel and make something from the ground up :D Although I'm contemplating creating a bunch of Modules for PostNuke to turn it in to a full fleged support system with fourms, helpdesk, ect. :) |
