Ok we have been in the design business for a while and have expanded to hosting for the past year or so and here is the question. We are looking for an integrated e-commerce/website development package that we can install on some of our servers so that end users can create a basic template driven website with basic e-commerce capablilities without us custom developing a solution. Think Yahoo's storebuilding software or GoDaddy.com. What we are looking for is an automated highly inclusive package that people with no HTML experience can use to develop a basic site so that if they are not interested in paying us for a full blown site they can buy a basic package and play with it. Here are some of the features we would like to see:
1) The ability to create a site through templates
with no HTML knowledge.
2) The ability to manage the items they sell with
a web interface.
3) Full E-Commerce capabilities (i.e. they apply
online for a merchant account and we connect
them to it).
4) Possibly basic statistics for the site they use
5) Perhaps online order viewing/processing
6) Ability to transfer software to different
servers (just variations of Linux)
We are open to both subscription services and regular software solutions. As a side note we have been looking at Kurant.com's StoreSense as a subscription option. The low entry costs are attractive but the actual costs seem slightly high (although they appear to offer significant functionality). I would greatly appreciate any feedback on software packages we should look at along with any feedback on Kurant.com's system. Thanks!
