The Raq 550 will Handle 1000+ Hits without breaking a sweat. Although I would suggest you add RAM. (maybe to 512mb or 1gb)

A Raq 4 with 512mb could handle that load as well.

With enough ram I am sure it can handle 1000 hits a second.

Hi, my Raq4 with 512mb of ram runs continously with between 25 and 50 users browsing 40,000 pages per day.

It's running 2 sites, one ASP and one PHP... problems only come when caspeng (chilisoft asp) starts to munch memory but this can be helped by coding the asp carefully to ditch sessions/db connections correctly.

The biggest problem we face is hitting our measly bandwidth allocations here in the UK.

Does anyone know of a host with a good bandwidth allowance on high memory Raqs?

Regards,

Jeremy

What's your definition of good bandwidth?

Hi, sorry forget to put in real numbers.

Good bandwidth would be in excess of 150gb per month.
We've gone from 5 to 10 to 20 to 40 in a short space of time so I'm planning for the next year or so ;-)

Jeremy

If you find anybody offering that amount in Ireland or UK let us know!

Hi, yeah I think it's not possible over our side of the Atlantic.

I'm going to have to move the hosting to the US.

Ah well...

Yes, I know of just such a host! But, according to the rules of this FORUM I can't tell you.

If your question were to appear in the Hosting Requests Forum, then I could give you a suggestion on where to look, without breaking any rules.

Oops!!

Just my luck, try to answer a direct question and help another person out and I break the rules by so doing.

I've edited my post to comply with the rules

The rules are the same for everybody.... in some cases they may seem extreme, but I think that they are fair overall

Well I think I've learnt my lesson and I'll post a statement about searching for a service in the Hosting Requests forum :)

The best online forums have the least blatent advertising and flaming etc. so I think we just had a shifting topic here that edged towards breaking the rules... maybe we could lock it to save further toing and froing.

Jeremy
