Does anyone know how long does it take to send money from the UK to the US ?

via the postal system. (overnight)

I think sending money isn't a problem but banking in the check might be one. It takes a week or two to process the check, compared to a local check.

Why would you post it and not wire the money over?

The problem is the sender did try to wire.. but it didnt' work.. then he tried to send the money over.. using overnight.. but it's 4 days already..

if he sent it via regular royal mail it should be there in 7 working days.
if he sent it special delivery royal mail will guarantee a three day (tops) service.

on the banking side.

if the cheque was made out in US dollars then it should take five days to clear.
if it was made out in sterling, then you should be looking at ten days for it to clear.

oh anf to dend a transfers to the us from the uk costs around £25. which is probably why he never actually sent it.

is it like the same for canada?
