I like contacting hosts directly to determine how friendly they are, how well they support their service, etc. Can someone please post any AIM screen names for webhosting companies in this thread? Thanks.

Chicken 07-07-2002, 03:03 PM Hosts may post their AOL IM screen names as requested, but I think members should not post other AOL IM screen names that they know, as some poeple don't want to be contacted. In other words, feel free to post your own only. Andrew 07-07-2002, 03:04 PM Lots of companies have them. Some only give them out to certain people and some give them out to everyone. Also, many around here place the IM screen name in their signature. fiberlocity 07-07-2002, 03:04 PM aim: FDrive 07-07-2002, 03:06 PM We can be contacted via AIM at this screenname: FDrive Support diederik 07-07-2002, 03:42 PM Just check my profile :) diederik 07-07-2002, 03:44 PM By the way Chicken ; just 8 more posts for post number 10000 :) Congrats :D HostInspect 07-07-2002, 04:28 PM You can talk to our owner in AIM: Shiekron dandanfirema 07-07-2002, 04:32 PM AIM: AlphHos Gem Hexen 07-07-2002, 04:35 PM Originally posted by Benfhw I like contacting hosts directly to determine how friendly they are, how well they support their service, etc. Can someone please post any AIM screen names for webhosting companies in this thread? Although many hosts reply within 30 minutes to email, I have seen at least 3 that have never replied. I want to know that help is there IMMEDIATELY, and AIM (or ICQ, MSN, etc) is the best way to determine this - unless the host has java support. zdwebhosting 07-07-2002, 05:36 PM zacintecumseh - aim Web Solution 07-07-2002, 05:42 PM Vecro Web - Aim (For general inquires & sales) slabhost 07-07-2002, 05:52 PM AIM: slabsupport SlabHost Full Featured and Affordable Web Hosting http://www.slabhost.com Choppy 07-07-2002, 11:07 PM AIM:Surrend007 :D Sales / Support successful 07-08-2002, 12:59 AM I think using AIM, MSN, Yahoo etc for customer relations, tech support, sales etc is not a bad idea BUT many users don't have IM software on the computer they are using. This problem has been solved by using a chat interface that any user can use without downloading AIM or other IM software. We use PHP Live Support and have found that it works very well. Once you grow and have a few techs answering customer chats you'll find that you wil not be able to use AIM or other IM software. You can't transfer chats etc etc. Andrew 07-08-2002, 01:36 AM Originally posted by successful I think using AIM, MSN, Yahoo etc for customer relations, tech support, sales etc is not a bad idea BUT many users don't have IM software on the computer they are using. We have several techs and we don't have much problem at all transferring chats with IM's. I've never gotten used to those PHP Live Support kind of things. To each his/her own I guess. successful 07-08-2002, 01:38 AM Ims are a great communication tool for intra company communication.
