I don't think it's appropriate to post client information in a public forum.

This is a dedicated customer, correct?

Well, you initially posted his web site URL as well. All I'm saying is that if I were a client, I might not want my web host to post my web site URL without me knowing about it, that's all (I'm sure you probably wouldn't either). :)

About worth keeping, if he signed up with a package that included the amount of disk space and bandwidth you mention, then of course keep him. However if those are overages and he's not paying for them, that's a different matter.

What plan did he sign up for? It looks like you have a customer that has taken you up on your "Unlimited" offer. You took a chance offering something that you could not possibly deliver and someone called you on it, and now you want to cancel his account?

He has my silver plan, not Platinum. And his site does not follow our TOS. I believe its some king of a warez site.

You are knowingly hosting a warez site?

If it's a warez site why are you even bothering posting this here. It should have been shut down as soon as you discovered it. If you know about a warez site on your server and you do nothing about it you are as guilty as the owner of the site.

If that's the case, then yes, it's definately worse to keep them.

Is this client worse keeping?

Please tell me this was just some weird, multiple Freudian slip.

Speaking for myself, I would drop that site as soon as possible because of the abuse of resources and the type of site that it is.

Yeah. And I think *********** (how cute!) just got himself unplugged, his site is gone like a waffle on Sunday morning!

So he pays for 500MB space and 30GB, and uses what you listed and you're wondering if you should keep him? Is his site on the same server as yours? (It loads Extremely slow, 700 pings from the USA too)

I guess if you're charging him $5/GB in overage you'd be happy to keep him, or he'd leave without you asking.

There's no such thing as unlimited though, is there a reason you offer it?
This may be your loop hole ot try and avoid anyone using much bandwidth "Due to the unique resource characteristics and traffic patterns associated with certain types of sites, the following are limited up to 10GB of free traffic and 600MB of free storage: sub hosting, shareware, sound, video, image, and multimedia archives/galleries, mirror sites, distribution points and any site whose primary purpose is file distribution." but it's still wrong to offer something impossible to provide.

I think you should keep him.

998 GB/month is alot... Did he really use that much?

He's using more than what you'd get with most dedicated server plans.

I say you ask him to clean up his act or move elsewhere, and mention what it would cost if you charged him for overages... (I'm guessing to the tune of several thousand dollars?)

If you offered unlimited then you should give it to him. If it is a warz site then take it down, but don't offer something you can't supply.

I think you should just charge him $6 a month more so he can have access to unlimited space and bandwidth.

Problem solved.

Actually, this is really very clear cut. The Silver Plan states 500mb space + 30gb bandwidth and he exceeds that pretty clearly by a huge margin. This goes beyond the plan he pays for and also by virtual it is warez, it does not conform to what is 'legal' and goes against your TOS.

By virtual of that, you could always give him notice and remove his site. Make him pay for the excess bandwidth consumed as per your TOS.

I think if you know it is a Warez site and thus keeping him means you condone to what he does and send out the message that Warez is permitted and legal in your respect.

Dump him and dump him quick.
