Hello,
I have all of my domain names hosted at godaddy.com, I am wondering if there is a better registar, that is cheaper.

I am only looking for a registar for domain names, I don't need web hosting.

Namecheap works out best for me. I run 3 domains on it and have been with them for over 3 years, never experienced a problem.

For just a few domains, NameCheap is great (much better than GoDaddy), if you have a lot of domains, you might consider an eNom reseller account. I haven't found a faster interface to buy and manage domain names than eNom.

Many people on WHT are offering free eNom reseller accounts at $8.95.

For that amount of domains I would suggest http://www.StarGate.com .

You can get a free reseller account via Tom. PM him at Stargate.com on WHT.

Their transfer fee is only $5.95 and registration fee is $6.95.
No big fees to pay upfront, just cover you costs.

They use the same software as ResellerClub which is LogicBoxes.
They are working on added more features to add onto their reseller options.

Unfortunately, at this time I cannot recommend Stargate. I have had several problems with Stargate. Tom, who posts here, appears to be a nice guy, but even after his personal involvement, I am several weeks without even a response. More can be read in this post – http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=588528

I have not personally done business with NameCheap, but the principal, Richard, posts here, and they have a good reputation.

I am of the opinion, with many others, that GoDaddy is an extremely dangerous registrar to trust with your valuable domain names.

You may be interested in searching here at WHT for the personal experiences of others with GoDaddy. Additionally, outside of WHT, two links that come to mind that give an accurate insight of GoDaddy’s behavior as a registrar are - http://nodaddy.com/ and http://www.thehostguru.com/2007/02/04/domain-suspension-from-godaddy-to-nodaddy-in-52-seconds/

well, i think godaddy is awful, but have with them onbe domain always, and other with blue razor. The reason is catch to my own account customers with problems and domains in godaddy. Normall y made a Push to me, and 60 days later transfer to them in resellerclub directi.

Was a HARD think choose the domain to leave wih them.

I am for years with Godaddy and did not have any big problems.
Also never lost any domains and I have lots of them.
I have 3 accounts with them and one at Enom and one with mydomain.com
believe me when I say that mydomain.com is the worse you can ever find besides registerfly.
They used the trouble situation many of us had with RF and trough the registerflies website they used the admin there as well.
As he made free advertising for them saying that mydomain.com is offering all people transferring out of RF with a special price.
Well found out that and after years of trouble with RF got again into a mess-hole!
So for that amount of domains I would suggest just to stick around Godaddy.

I think resellerclub ( directi ) is the best registrar .
