Hello Guys,

I recently installed Linux server os on my old IBM Thinkpad Laptop. It was running fine where I used it for learning purposes. It was not used for quite some time as I left it aside. I wanted to use it today.This time it just shows the Ram and nothing else and after a few minutes, it asked for the boot disk which I inserted and it starts and stops and it produces the below errors:

VFS: Cannot open root device 03.08
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03.08

Any ideas why it's giving the error or how can I rectify it.


Anyway, I decide to install windows os for the laptop again and removed Linux os ... How do I go about uninstalling Linux from the Laptop? Any help is very much appreciated.

I send it to a technician and he used some utilities to check and found the problem, the harddisk was faulty. Replaced another one (10gb) and install Linux again and everything works fine.
