Got a question for you guys. I'm buying a new monitor which has a default resolution of 1200x1024. However, I would like to change this to 800x600. Now, I am aware that it is not the most difficult task in the world to change this.

However, when you do that, not everything fits on the screen, as the default is set to 1200x1024. Is there anyway to change the default to 800x600 so everything runs at that res. without any problems?

Hope that made sense, cheers.

What size is this monitor?

Well, actually it's a laptop, so 14.1".

What's not fitting on the screen? Web pages, apps, or your desktop?

Also, is there a setting in between 800 and 1200? You may want to give that a shot. Something like 1024x768. 800x600 is enormous unless you have eye problems or something that require everything to be large.

I need the resolution to be 800x600 as that's what the majority of monitors are set at. It's easier to design web sites this way.

My monitor's resolution is 1024*768 -- when I'm designing a webpage, I just switch to 800*600 (and all of the other resolutions to make sure it looks good in them too). When I'm done, I switch back.

Same here. :)

True, but its a bit too much hassle for my liking. Is there a way of doing what I asked about in the first place?

Sure. Just switch it to 800X600 and leave it there.
