View Full Version : What is the real purpose behind the post count?

I am an administrator on several forums and the only thing that I see the post count does on usernames is gets people competing for the mosts posts. All it does is cause a lot of trouble. Is there any other reason for it? I would really like your input on this.

posts can be a bit like references.

on WHT, for example, if someone with 1 post comes along full of nothing but spammish sounding praise for a never-before-heard-of host, i'm less likely to take the recommendation seriously than i would if it were from a web hosting guru like myself ;)

i agree with that you trust someone higher up you actually no they arnt just signing up for the free promotion......
