I love to use it too, so easy to update and wide varity of plugins are also available for to ;) CaroNet-Hesham 03-20-2007, 09:21 PM I like Nucleus. http://nucleuscms.org/ 24x7os 03-21-2007, 12:02 AM Another vote for wordpress to start blogging lorem ipsum 03-21-2007, 06:37 AM And if you used wordpress, please, recommend any Wordpress tutorials to start. trendy 03-21-2007, 06:46 AM wordpress is great as a blog, you will need to get some additional plug-ins to enhance the performance and SEO :) Vex76 03-21-2007, 07:35 AM In blogging, in my experience (and I guess in the experience of a myriad of people), Wordpress has proven its stable positions as a primary choice of those both new or experienced in blogging. Unfortunately, due to my recent start here, I can't support my opinion with useful links to wordpress tutorials and the like but they are relatively easy to find in Google. 24x7os 03-21-2007, 09:06 AM You can check http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page for wordpress guide SharkBait 03-21-2007, 11:46 AM My vote is for WordPress. I've written my own blog script but if I didn't write my own I would of gone with Wordpress :) Amalia 03-22-2007, 10:06 AM Another vote goes to Wordpress. We've been together for 2 years now and I am very content with it - it simply has it all - skins, plugins...And very nice beginner-friendly tutorials to start with. viclopez 03-22-2007, 04:56 PM i heard wordpress is a little db heavy. any thoughts? i still use it tho. sergiosuanez 03-22-2007, 07:33 PM Wordpress is the very best, easy to install, easy to manage, easy to customize... its perfect. Amalia 03-23-2007, 09:54 AM Hi, viclopez ;) Compared to some other blog systems I've operated on, like Blogspot, ExpressionEngine, Textpattern, Wordpress is really a bit a database hog. Anyway, the features this blogging system provides are in times much more valuable than those in the other alternatives. Personal opinion :) ivytony 03-23-2007, 10:16 AM thanks for all the suggestions, guys! I have chosen and installed WordPress, but I am wondering if there is any better WYSIWYG editor than the built-in one? thanks Amalia 03-23-2007, 10:39 AM thanks for all the suggestions, guys! I have chosen and installed WordPress, but I am wondering if there is any better WYSIWYG editor than the built-in one? thanks Maybe you'll find your question's answer in this thread (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/72202) ;) jerett 03-23-2007, 10:42 AM Comparing WP to Movabletype and Serendipity - which one would work best for templating? I am not a PHP guru and I noticed MT uses things like <MTEntries> so you can easily stick them where you want them. Do the other two ofter similar systems? Amalia 03-23-2007, 10:55 AM Unfortunately, I've never worked with Movabletype and Serendipity, so I don't have any useful feed to share, but your question, Jerett, got me interested and I hope someone will take the time to satisfy our curiosity. ;) Comenius 03-23-2007, 10:49 PM Not to be overly boring, but another vote for WordPress. It's really flexible, and easy to use. TheHegemon 03-24-2007, 01:04 AM personally i use wordpress and I think it is the best out there dojo 03-26-2007, 03:38 PM I also use Wordpress and I am pleased with it. Didn't like it at first, but it's a good script. And Akismet is a God sent when dealing with spam comments Vex76 03-27-2007, 07:37 AM Dojo, Will you get deeper about that Akismet? I am looking for any working ways to kill as much spam as I possibly can. mummy 03-27-2007, 09:21 AM Wordpress stands out in the big sea. It's easy to use and you can get a free blog with them. lorem ipsum 03-27-2007, 09:28 AM Hi, you may look here (http://wordpress.org/extend/ideas/topic.php?id=55&page) for a better wordpress editor. |
