Oh I sure hope that it will expire, about time! We treat this Planet as if we had a spare one in the basement... if I was nature there would be noone walking on theis Planet for long :(

I say we make it illegal to be 30 pounds overweight. Then tax each of those 30 pounds, and send them to boot camp when they get over that.

I think it was George Carlin (though I could be wrong), during a comedy sketch about Earth Day, who said something to the extent of:

You hear all about how styrofoam isn't biodegradable and that tons of it are floating out in the ocean. Who knows? Maybe we were put on this Earth for the purpose of making large amounts of styrofoam float in the ocean. Earth isn't going to die, we're going to die. The Earth will still be here even if we pollute the water and the land...

As you can probably tell, errrr... that isn't exactly verbatim (the major difference being that when he said it, it was true and funny, heh).

I look at it this way. Humans will destroy themselves one way or another, I dont know if it'll be war, terrorists, nuclear weapons, mass starvation or something like it but it will happen. I HATE the human race, i'm sorry but I do. Humans will become extinct and 200 to 300 hundread years after that things will probably be back to the way before we took over the planet. (unless we really screw Erth over)

Every time we hear these stories about comets, waves, aliens, etc destroying the world. It's really getting old. I heard of so many reports like that that I just don't give a damn.

i believe the planet has a completely natural way of renewing its self.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE DESTROY IT THE PLANET WILL ALWAYS SURVIVE.

The only problem is it takes way too long to repair from its injuries for humans, we will probably end up killing ourselves in the end, but hey, in another billion years after its renewed its self then another human race will evolve and start all over again, destroy the planet and the chain will start over again until one reincarnation finally gets it right!!.

Anyone watched the movie AI?

Well in that movie, human destroyed themselves by the year 4000 by not giving a damn about global warming.
I seriously think global warming is getting really serious now.

Did you guys notice this year's temperature is more erratic and higher than last year's?
I really hope we can solve the global warming problem asap. I will hate to see our race ending up like the dodo.

come to think of it, hopefully the global warming can get a little worse, just enough so I actually get more than 3 days sun before it starts pishing down again, gotta love the UK for its abysmal weather.

Once it has reach a temperature i am happy with then we can start concentrating on the global warming issue.

If you are trying to be funny you failed, if you are serious then you have no grasp of the problem. Consumption is not just about eating, it is about lifestyle. It is about how much you drive and the type of car you own, it is about the plastic bottles or containers you use and throw away, the amount of meat you eat, what your thermostat is set at, and more. A person's weight has very little to do with the overall amount of resources they consume.

At the rate we're going, yes. They were talking about cutting back on luxuries. Does that means the end of electronics and motor transportation since they consume so much resources? (power supply, spare parts = precious fuel and metal deposits drained)
