IH-Rameen 03-18-2007, 07:01 PM I recommend RapidSSL or GeoTrust QuickSSL.
jasonkw 03-18-2007, 07:51 PM Comodo InstantSSL is another good choice.

HE/LW-Sam 03-19-2007, 03:04 AM Namecheap.com sells RapidSSL for 15$ too :)
SolarFlare 03-19-2007, 06:58 AM I picked mine up at registerfly....$15. According to the recent post of hacking attempts I'm not sure its the best choice...lol. Let's hope it is.
orongo 03-19-2007, 09:28 AM namecheap.com sale the Geotrust SSL (QuickSSL Premium) $108.00
and at www.geotrust.com the same SSL Certificates: QuickSSLŽ Premium is $299.
It's look the same SSL for me.. why such price difference?
Thanks
Jame$ 03-19-2007, 09:50 AM I get mine from Godaddy (19.99) with a 1.99 USD domain :D
Lightwave 03-19-2007, 09:51 AM The only thing I've discovered I don't care for about NameCheap's resold RapidSSL certs is that somewhere along the line someone ignores most of the data from my CSR.
Ie. https://www.lightwave.net/
The cert data should be closer to my self-signed cert @
https://dns.lightwave.net/
I knowingly clicked the "I Approve" link when going through the process even tho it clearly displayed the information not quite as what I wanted... so I'm not really complaining... Just thought it was strange.
I'm not sure if that's a normal function of the way they resell the certs... or if I had complained they could have set it correctly. /shrug. It wasn't worth the delay.

Resellers like NameCheap buy certs at wholesale prices and often sell them below the suggested list price on Geotrust. It's the same certificate, just cheaper. Things like reissues would still go through the Geotrust website. So generally it's better to buy from a trusted reseller to save some money.
TradeViceroy 03-19-2007, 03:16 PM I use ThePlanet/EV1 for most of my certificates. In fact, I just bought one last night! =)
kamyana 03-19-2007, 05:43 PM how about thawte ssl certificates. What's there rating ?
ZasGC 03-19-2007, 07:08 PM I have the one from Namecheap
Kiamori 03-20-2007, 10:49 PM If you just need a basic cheep ssl cert go with ThePlanet for $15, its an equifax CA-1 cert.

That is becuase you have purchased on eof the low cost domain validated SSL certificates. becuase the company has only done domain validation they can not confirm the data you provided and therefore donot present this within the certificate.
If you want to have your full details displayed in the certificate then you need to purchase a more expensive certificate such as the True BusinessID or a new Extended Validation certificate.
hanber 03-21-2007, 09:57 AM I would recommend RapidSSL
BillBrown 03-22-2007, 06:28 PM I enjoy going through Comodo. Their customer support is pretty respectable.
