My client's site is currently hosted at AIT where they provide a free secure server for people using their proprietary shopping cart.
I want to transition him off that server and onto an Alabanza-based server. I'm thinking of moving him to an Akopia Interchange shopping cart system. My question here is about secure data.
Currently the AIT shopping cart sends him a PGP-encrypted email. My client decrypts it and processes the credit card payment using a card swipe he uses in his office. Since he uses the card swipe for normal business he's not interested in paying extra for online payment processing like Cybercash, etc.
The Akopia Interchange documentation is not very clear, so that's why I'm asking anyone here who has used it for help.
If I were to set up my client using Akopia without Cybercash, there seems to be an option called CreditCardAuto that will encrypt the credit card data.
However, the documentation doesn't say what the hell the system will do with the encrypted information!!!
Will it keep the encrypted data sitting there on the server? Or will it send it to my client by email?
This has to be a simple question to answer for people who have used it, but I'd hate to have to install the entire system just to find out I can't use it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
