Jessicam 07-06-2002, 02:43 AM Hi there,
Gawd, I must be bored. LOL
I wonder how long your ICQ numbers are, fellow WHT members......... Let's see what we get, eh? :)

secludo 07-06-2002, 03:38 AM 77774745 ... so 8 digits. My very first one was less since I registered it quite a few years ago, when I was about 13 (am 19 now), I can't remember the number though.
Synthetic 07-06-2002, 03:54 AM 8 digits. I had no idea that ICQ numbers varied in length.

StarGate 07-06-2002, 06:18 AM 7
Elena 07-06-2002, 07:01 AM 671507 - but I probably had like 4 or 5 before this one. Err.. 6 or so years ago I got the net and had ICQ probably a few months later (it was brand new stuff at the time). My years are probably off.. it was a long time ago though.. not sure what year I got this ICQ UIN specifically... but it was probably when I was 17/18 and started writing down all my passwords in a HUGE book/diary  LOL
edude 07-06-2002, 07:13 AM Who here uses both ICQ & MSN?
Zutroy 07-06-2002, 07:53 AM Well I've got one of the first 10,000 ICQ numbers.

The 5 digit one were released but they were taken over by ICQ themselves and are no longer in use to the public.
Regarding what program I use its Trillian. Its an excellent program cos I can use all the chat programs at once:
ICQ,
MSN,
IRC,
AIM and Yahoo.
It easy to use and simple to setup, saves having loads of software running at the same time.

Zutroy 07-06-2002, 11:30 AM Realist - I wasn't aware that there were 5 digit numbers. Cool. Knowing that it's just for staff, I'm happy to have a 6 digit ICQ # that's under 110,000

richy 07-06-2002, 04:51 PM lol people actually auction low icq numbers lolol how lame is that. notice the lack of bids. i guess it could be considered similar to memorable telelphone numbers for business :(
JSpired 07-06-2002, 04:53 PM 9 digits here.
Realist 07-06-2002, 05:21 PM I will say this and only to inform you all. There is a script out there that scans for any block of ICQ numbers. When found it displays the ICQ number, the password used and all information that the original user used.
The reason Im telling you all this is that a large number of these ICQ numbers sold on auction sites are Illegally obtained via this method and once purchased its to late.
Regards,
Brian

Jessicam 07-06-2002, 09:40 PM Pretty interesting numbers! Most have posted having 8 digits. I've seen 9-digit numbers out there. Does anyone know where they are at right now? 10-digit perhaps?
My lowest numbers are 6 digits and one starts with a 2XXXXX and the other one with 3XXXXX
Elena, xtstrike and Zutroy are among the lowest numbers thus far.

Zutroy 07-07-2002, 08:04 PM Does anyone remember what year ICQ started? Had to have been 1995 or 1996. Seems like I've had it forever, even though I don't use it that often.

I told all of my friends and forced them to signup. Now we all have low digits and many hacking attempts. Keep those passwords very long!
I registered as Bill gates and got many many people thinking and asking if I was the real Bill.
You can all imagine how much fun I had :)
Sure, I'm THE Bill. Wassup?
LOL!
btw. you all know how much the three programmers got when they sold it to AOL right? I believe it was 400 million dollars :bawling:
andiegirl 07-19-2002, 05:13 PM 7 digits.
I've had it since 97. I remember when ICQ was new, and I refused to download it for the longest time until 97. I didn't think it would be a hit.
I regret it now though... I could have had a much lower number if I downloaded it when it was released. :bawling:
filburt1 07-19-2002, 07:47 PM 0 digits, because ICQ sucks.
deathlord 07-20-2002, 03:45 AM 6 digits 22xxxx

shaunewing 07-21-2002, 11:36 PM I've got 4207xxx (7 digits) that I got in early 1997.
I also had an 8 digit 3xxxxxxx but I gave it to a friend who wanted something shorter than what is currently being allocated.
I know some people with really good ICQ numbers - one is 220xxx, another is 548xxxx (the xxxx is the same digit repeated 4 times).
I use Trillian for IM - I have MSN, ICQ and AOL setup in it.

How dumb i am in news :cartman:

I use Gaim on my linux desktop, no ads there. :) You might look at Trillian for Windows machines if you want to escape the ads. I haven't used Trillian for awhile, as my linux machine is my local server and handles my chat duties as well.

I guess I wasn't far behind you 441****, but I don't use that one now, I have 8 digits now :)
Diane 07-23-2002, 09:21 AM There was also a script that I use on an RTS website (rubinstein-taybi.org) that you can put the numbers in for people in organizations to share.
http://iwhome.com/cgi-bin/Crier/icq/icq.pl
(I need to set the script up on my new host)...
Looks like the link from where I purchased it is out of business, it was really cheap when I purchased it though.
If you had an old one - you can go back to icq.com and do a search on your name. It will give you the number... AND if you can remember the password you used then you can use it again.
