I've browsed through many threads on the forum for webhosts, but I've found nothing that really suits me but seeing I have friends at college who want web hosting im kind of having trouble squeezing them into my current, but what im looking for is:

Type: Reseller
Control Panel: cPanel / Plesk (not really botherd but somthing Im used to)
Disk Space: About 2GB+
Monthly Transfer: 20GB+
and if possible able to host unlimited mysql/domains/addon etc..
Price: $10 max (i am student)

At the moment, im paying:
$5.33 for:
cPanel Reseller
2GB Space
20,000 Bandwidth,

even through I can upgrade there package, I am starting to feel uneasy on how the whole server is working (Still on kernel 2.4 etc..) and one of my own domains had to be added through Add-on not parking. oh and that I had to open all my SpamTrap to make sure I got every mail.

If you do know any reliable webhosts which offer this (I assume its rare) I would appraite it alot

David,

Have you contacted your current host about the problems you are having? If so, what was their response?

If not, do this before deciding to switch hosts! Maybe it's a simple problem they can easily resolve from their end!

Thanks for the reply,

About the domain, Yes I have even had the tech support guy ring me at home (gave me a scare)

the domain is only on redirect, so if I try to host a subdomain on the domain it still only direct to my main site, same with email (I have emailed and says nothing he can do and stating that resetting my account in WHM won't do a thing)

Linux Kernel, that it seems to lag got no reply back from.
and lately trying to send a support seems to bounce back

That is odd indeed. What was his reason for why it could not be fixed?

I am indeed sorry to hear of the troubles.

Though not in your price range, HostGator might be your best bet. At least you would get something super-reliable, that works really well. I used to host there, and I was genuinely impressed.

He said somthing with the CNAMES not syncing in BIND and I did tell him he just needs to remove the stale entry in bind.conf to get it working again (Cpanel even states the error when I try to add the sub/domain)

but otherwise I've herd nothing else from him and neither any emails

Dogtanian,

Your existing provider seems to be going out of their way to try to help -- I know a number of providers who would even avoid calling someone based on a domain. The margins mean the first call they make they're losing money on you. ;)

That is unless you're paying 60+ bucks a year for the domain :)
At any rate, I wouldn't jump away just yet. Give your provider a chance!

David,

He stated that emails to support are now bouncing --- I don't think I'd stick around.

I been with the provider since last september and been vastly impressed with there service, but now it just seems to be dropping more and more

im kind of having trouble squeezing them into my current,

Are you looking for a reseller account or simply something that you can host multiple domains on?

Totally missed that, sorry.

Check the advertising forums again. I've definetely seen a few down there that fit your specs, though I don't know anything of their reputation.

Otherwise, I would agree with going with Hostgator. You can pay for security.

That is unless you're paying 60+ bucks a year for the domainI get the impression you're considering this as a domain registration service. I think it is about hosting. With the OP paying monthly, they should be able to recoup the loss for this month if there is no other issue anytime soon.

You're right on them going out of their way though. Sadly, sometimes the right attitude is not enough, and the final judgement is done based on the results. :S

Is it so difficult to find something like this for 10 dollars?

It is easy to find, but it is quite difficult to find hosting company with quality services on that price

Yes. You want a reseller account with a professional service, good support (who actually can fix things rather than just "hope" the control panel works), etc, then $10/month just isnt going to be enough - try $30/month

To the OP, the problem with your addons/parked is quite common and just requires a host who knows how to edit the zone and httd conf files, as control panels have a tendency to break things.

I do not think so... Just i do not know if it's possible to make spot.
But in general hosting is a quite cheap resource.

We can talk about feature for hours, but hosting is made by space and bandwidth.
Everything we put more we pay nothing. So i think 10$ per months should have to be quite enough for a good hosting account :)

Oooh, please provide details of where all the free support technicians can be found, a list of the free hardware suppliers, control-panel software authors who provide their products for free, free copies of forum software, livechat software, free skins and script installers, and the like - hey, right now i'd settle for a Satrbucks that provides free coffee ... ;)

Hosting is about a lot more than "space and transfer". IME they're are a tiny part of the service that clients expect.

As the OP shows, you might be able to get space cheap, but its not coming with the support they need, or the features they require.

In such way I agree with you...just you should admit that something like 100MB at 4$ per months it's a lot to pay tecnician :)

It means from middle level server you can get at least 4000 $ a month :)
It's ok, but final user has no fault if the company is a small one and is not able to make large scale economies.

In a modern, well organized infrastructure, you should start to talk about GB at that price.

But it's just my opinion...maybe the future will show my faults :)

We can talk about feature for hours, but hosting is made by space and bandwidth. And you're in the hosting industry? My best advice to you would be to research the industry you're in: It is a service oriented industry. Quotas count for nothing if the service is absent. Space and bandwidth, especially in the reseller hosting sector, are not even close to the top of the list (if they sit tenth, they are lucky).

Most im looking for is reliable host and some support on know what they doing, not just some 16Year old with a dedicated server and a control panel.

Just somthing thats reliable, suits the specs posted on the first page. Again im perpared that I woudn't get the most professional support with such budget (im quite a techie my self) but has nobody have any hosts around that price? i am looking threw the reseller offers for deals though just don't have a clue how reliable they are

Dogtanian,

As stated this is not very easy but you may want to check out ResellerZoom, BudgetReseller and Knownhost. They all have a good rep here and have reseller plans at $10. Another worth considering is Dathorn who has a $13.50/mo plan.

Good luck.
