blazenet 07-05-2002, 03:09 PM Hello,
Anyone knows anything about them? Are they good, are they bad?
The person I have spoken with ("porcupine" in the forums here) seems to be a very nice person, and is very willing to help. He told me they are a small company, but yet they do seem to be quite professionel.
Anyone else has anything good/bad to say? I'm about to go into business with them, but want to make sure before I sign anything :)
mdrussell 07-05-2002, 03:26 PM Myles (Porcupine) is a friendly and honest guy, I don't think you can go wrong with them.
porcupine 07-05-2002, 04:01 PM Blazenet,
If you'd like, i can put you in touch with current customers, or customers who have left (with their permission granted) if you do not get enough response here :).
I know i cant really answer any questions you may have as they're customer directed obviously, but i can put you in touch with any mix of customers that you'd like as i'm confident our reputation would stand the trial :).
blazenet 07-05-2002, 04:15 PM Hehe, that never is bad, if a web host is confident enough to bring me in touch with his customers

EVERY company should do this.
Just because someone offers a customer list or reference list does not mean they are a good company or have a good network or are going to provide you a good service.
I have not used prioritycolocation.com or do not really follow them but I have never seen anything bad about them so it seems they are pretty good.
cabalstudios 07-05-2002, 04:41 PM Yeah.. Myles is a nice guy, chatted to him a few times.
All the best
porcupine 07-05-2002, 04:42 PM :D
We don't openly provide a reference or customer list, but on request will do it. I've considered publishing a public one, but that would just be "bought out customers" basically, because i would have to offer them something in return for agree'ing to do this, otherwise it wouldn't be worth their trouble to be publically listed, it would be like working for us... except for free, which it seems people dont want to do :D.
Blazenet has contacted me privately to get some names of current, and past customers, if anyone else is interested in Priority Colocation Inc. and desires similar information, they can do the same :)
StarGate 07-06-2002, 03:14 PM I don't have actual experience with them but I thought I'd post anyhow since I heard many and exceptionally good things about them directy from people who are clients there...
porcupine 07-06-2002, 03:19 PM  awww, thanks Rob :D
thesmallguyshost 07-06-2002, 03:50 PM Yes Miles is a good, honest, straightforward guy.. he'll treat you good.
blazenet 07-06-2002, 08:05 PM Just heard my server is going to by up at least 24 hours later than promised...
Oh well, since I don't expect anyone else can have a server up before money, I guess I just have to wait...
Guess I give them the advantage of the doubt :(
porcupine 07-06-2002, 08:34 PM Unfortunatly i must confirm this is correct.
One of my staff members (who was responsible for formatting the servers and bringing them back up) has gotten the impression that the weekend is "his time" and has been extremely uncooperative when the other hardware that he was working on was found to be faulty (the original reason he was going into the facility today). Unfortunatly this is one of the dis-advantages of having a small company it seems :bawling:.

What I want to know Myles, is where these people get off thinking they have a personal life outside the business. :D :stickout

I honestly dont know. I thought i made it clear when I founded this company that a life was not really an option, weekends are not your own, when you work for me (or anyone in this business) you are responsible to be emergency available 24/7, i dont care if it's christmas. Some people just dont seem to understand this concept apparently, or they think they're not responsible for it if it's a service the client isn't paying for (free tech support for example). These people really need to find a new line of work . Like my old boss used to say "I own your life!", it's true :D.
blazenet 07-06-2002, 08:57 PM Well, I have got to add to this, Myles offered me to help me configure the server for everything needed (within reason) for free, or, since I will be leaving on vacation shortly, if it isn't ready Monday he will hold the offer.
Thanks a lot for that Myles (gotta put something right after posting th bad news) :stickout

Sure is :D, i'm not debating that, but then again, dont forget our position, in comparison to most companies of this type, we're a tiny company, and theres no point having employee's who cant give 110%. When something goes wrong, i need the appropriate staff to be available, we're not big enough to be able to afford like 4 shifts a day or anything of that nature unfortunatly.
