View Full Version : reseller advice for idiot needed
hawk6666 03-11-2007, 06:25 AM I'm an online seller not a techy so apologies for making my first post an advice-seeking one.
I'm looking for a reliable reseller account because i run a lot of domains and it makes financial sense.
I already run a reseller account with Fasthosts who amazingly despite the bad publicity have always been fine in terms of reliability and support.
I'm not an expert with Cpanel but am learning so would like a reseller account with Cpanel.
I run simple sales sites and don't (yet) need anything fancy in terms of script.
I'm looking for
1. Reliable established reseller account
2. Good support
3. Good tutorial for Cpanel or good 'how to' pages from the hoster
4. Financially not too bothered - would pay for reliability
5. The easier to use the better. I'm not stupid but I'm new to Cpanel
Thanks for taking the time to help me - it's appreciated.
Tony
jtodd 03-11-2007, 06:35 AM Hawk6666,
Most hosts should be able to offer this. I recommend you start your search in the offers section.
I assume that every cPanel host would offer help to new users as to how to use cPanel for various tasks. A lot of hosts also have extensive FAQs and flash tutorials which may help you.
kjawaid 03-11-2007, 06:37 AM There are many host which provide cpanel hosting .. however i use resellerzoom.com for cpanel ... and when you signup for failover packages you will get a free brandable CPanel tutorials (I think video too) for your your self and your clients
however you can check hostgator.com , lunarpages.com these compaines also have a good reputation here in wht.

If you are happy with your current host why change? Don't change for the sake of change... you might find that the grass is not greener on the other side :)
IN any case, to answer your original question, you can check out the reseller hosting offers (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=130), write down the ones that intrigue you and then search for reviews (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php) on them to help you in your decision.
Good luck to you!
dhcart 03-11-2007, 10:57 AM I recommend Hostdime. Their support is fast. The uptime is not under %99.5. The prices inexpensive. But you can find more reliable hosting providers on WHT. You may choose one after you read the reviews.
ldcdc 03-11-2007, 10:32 PM however you can check hostgator.com , lunarpages.com these compaines also have a good reputation here in wht.Lunarpages' reseller hosting is a reseller program, where you buy ready made shared hosting accounts (at some $5 per account I believe) and resell them, not the typical large account that you can split as you wish. Jut making sure the OP gets what he's after.
If you are happy with your current host why change?I agree. Hosting is like a spouse. Beautiful or not so beautiful, if there's chemistry between the two who are involved in teh relationship, that's all that matters. :)

That's no good. Why pay them $5 a month? That's practically free money. When I first started out I was with integrityhost.com and I paid them $150 so I could 'resell' their hosting, it was totally a waste of money.
Some hosts actually have software installed that will allow you to sell your own reseller accounts, as a reseller! That means that you don't have to resell reseller accounts from your host directly and pay them money, you can just make your own dang reseller accounts!
PremiumHost 03-13-2007, 10:44 AM I think the easiest way is use Find A Host link to get host quote from hosting providers.
Most hosting providers have cpanel and whm flash tutorials.
Cpanel is a "very easy to use" control panel.
If you are open to other control panels, directadmin has a great guide

totos 03-17-2007, 03:39 PM Since you don't want to reselling any services, but rather for your own use, why don't you have a look for usual shared hosting accounts that support multiple domains, instead?
It is more cheap, and equal quality of hosting. The reseller accounts are more expensive, because you are reselling services and also have seperate control panels for each domain...
cmmorris1 03-17-2007, 09:48 PM I personally like HostGator, I just moved to them and I can say that I love their service. I just found out today that my old host that I've used for a few years now is closing down with no warning.

Well you have plenty of options for a reseller account but I would wonder too why you are looking since you say you already have one (apparently with good support)
Best of luck.

Not good to hear your old host is closing, not always the best thing to have! Make sure you have your own backups of all your files!
