Excuse me...? I don't quite understand what you mean. If you're saying the storage is too high for just $20, can you recommend me a reseller web hosting provider with 50 GB instead? I would edit my main post, but I think it's been too far away from the point I posted it and it wont let me. Is that any better? I found the GoDaddy reseller plan "Super Reseller" to be almost identical to my specs, but you have to pay yearly and I don't have $2xx dollars on me as of now. Thanks!

Jason

Sorry, dont take me wrong. HDD and bandwidth of those specs from a reliable host for 20$ doesnt seem realistic.

I would highly suggest you to make a list of top choices and then search around this forum.

Also check the reseller hosting offers :)

Reseller hosting is not exactly shared hosting. Resellers tend to use what you give them, especially in the long run, hence the sustainable overselling levels are reduced. ;)

I found the GoDaddy reseller plan "Super Reseller" to be almost identical to my specsThat's more of a "reseller program" I believe, where you buy shared hosting packages at a discount, and resell them. Is it not?

Godaddy doesn't use cPanel, that's for sure.

Yes Godaddy offer a discount on resold packages ... that what they call a reseller .. i think its not white label too .. no cpanel is available there

and shadowz ... 20$ per month .. not possible .. i have searched alot in several webhost directories, forums .. but not a single company even with a bad reputation offer this amount of space and bandwidth along with your other requirements

for $20, you cannot get anywhere near 50GB webspace or 1TB bandwidth with a reputable and reliable provider. You really need to increase your budget *and* drop you requirements.

if you can increase your budget to $100/month when maybe find a solution.

At this price you might as well go for a dedicated server...

I think your expected requirements are pretty high. I suggest you look around and try and get a more resonably priced reseller with more realistic plans. 100 GB of storage and 1 TB of bandwidth isn't realistic for 20 bucks.

If you even tended to read the previous posts, I said that I wanted 50 GB instead. I'm just not liable to edit my main post. If that's still too much, how about 25 GB? If that's still too much, how about 10 GB? Thanks!

I recommend Hostdime. Their support is fast and the uptime is not under %99.5. We are working with them for 7-8 months. They provide VPS and Managed Dedicated Servers, too. Also you can find a lot of reliable providers on WHT. You must read the reviews for this. Then must choose one as your needs. Good luck!

Yes, it's true. But if he had not knowledge when he must look for a managed solution. But then he must increase the budget more.

Doesn't anyone ever read the posts? I just said I want 25 GB instead. Isn't that low enough? If not, 10 GB at minimum. Thank you.

Actually it is not the diskspace requirements that startled them, its your bandwidth requirements. 1TB usually only come with a server purchase, hardly something you can get from a reseller.

Yes hardly for USD 20 only

Hi Jason,

If you're just starting out and don't know how much disk space and transfer you'll need (which is normal), I'd suggest just choosing the smallest plan from a reputable supplier. Typical specs would be 5Gb space, 100Gb transfer for about $20 pm.

Then when you get some clients and some experience of how much (or how little!) they actually use, upgrade as necessary.

There are alot of good hosts out there that don't do any advertising on the internet thay use local news in there own town. Look around i am sure you can find what you are looking for.

Shadow,

People do read the posts, sometimes they are writing a post and so they do not see your post until they've posted theirs. Basically things happen. There are a ton of resellers out there you can look at the offer section in this forum, read reviews posted here by users, etc... You'll have to dedicate some elbow grease to educate yourself and you'll find what you need.

Providers with hosting services like that are only a huge problem, if you like a low budget and some Gb maybe you should get a VPS.

Overselling isn´t a good option, but you have some people who does it like
domaingurus.com, there support is lame, they let domains expire when you have paid them one month before, but they also have the "incredible" offer of 5000 sites with 750Mb/20Gb and other things for $50/mo

my advice is to stay away from guys like them, if you want to compete, do it with quality, get a provider with stability, good support, and good reviews in this forum.

I spend like 2 months checking reviews to adquire my Dedicated server and
my provider is great.

good luck !!

Thanks for the help everybody!:) As foobic said, I'm not exactly sure how much space/bandwidth I should get. You cannot resell more storage/bandwidth that your plan aquires, correct? So if I get to little storage/bandwidth, I don't think it'd attract any members. And at the same time, I want a web host that's reliable. Would you guys maybe recommend a VPS (Virtual Private Server) instead? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Jason

Shadowz,

In this day and age you have to find your niche. Its hard to compete with the big guys if you're not bringing something to the table. While there are pro's and con's to this you can oversell. Basically most of your users will never use all the resources allocated to them. So for example lets say you get a host that gives you 100GB of disk space (keeping it simple here), you could sell 20 accounts for 10GB each (oversell).

As for the VPS question I'm not that well versed in how this area so I'll let someone else chime in.

I think I have found something that is very close to what you want, on the offers section:

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=591356&highlight=reseller

this is from DeviousHosting and among other things it offers:

Storage :: 60,000 MB
Bandwidth :: 600,000 MB
Price: $25,99 / month

I hope you are happy with that!! ;)

PS.

I think many hosts are in a rush, ALWAYS, to say that this or the other is impossible, its overselling, you're crazy, blah blah....

I would advise before writing something, do your research first....because you are not just "simple" users but professionals as well, so you should be more careful and don't come up with "fast" conclusions...

I say that, because the same happened with me, AS WELL!! I was looking for a very cheap VPS for well under $10 with any control panel and minimum specs. Almost ALL the hosts, said THATS IMPOSSIBLE, YOU NEVER WILL FIND SOMETHING LIKE THAT, etc etc....BUT a user to which I am thankful, came with a proposition that matched perfectly my requirements.....

So, hosts should be more careful with quick conclusions. The fact that some of you have chosen a specific business model, doen't mean the end of the world for the rest people....;)

You don't have to jump to a "fast conclusion" when determining whether 1TB of transfer will be available to you for ~$20. In fact, throw conclusions out of the window; it comes down to basic mathematics (undisputable, I might add). 1TB of bandwidth is not available at that price.

I think most people in here speaks based on there good/bad experience,
not allways you get a bad experience with a incredible cheap provider, but
it occcurs more often than we think, personally I´d a terrible experience
with domaingurus.com/cari.net and was my fault because my experience with
hosting at that time only made me see an expectacular offer and no the "overselling" side of the story

few years later I meet my first dedicated server and all change completely,
and for good.

Anyway, if you want to get a VPS maybe you shoul do a review of this guys
www.knowhost.com I´m thinking seriously on get one VPS from them very soon...

reviews are good about support, prices also are interesting,
and sales have quick in there response...

good luck !!

For $20.00 per month even 10GB is a bit too much however you should have no problem finding a host that would meet your requirements since we have plenty of oversellers in the industry and some have quite a reputation.

I doubt though that you will find any reliable provider offering cpanel reseller plans with 1TB bandwidth for $20.

Try Site5, they offer 2TB for exactly $20 per month http://www.site5.com/resellers/ - but they are not recommended on WHT.

I suggest that you get a small reseller plan with a reliable host and forget about the disk space and bandwidth for a while simple as that. You have gone from 100GB disk to space to 10GB and I highly doubt you would even use that up.

As for 1TB of bandwidth you won't ever get that from any reliable/unreliable host who would actually let you use 1TB of bandwidth it requires serious server resources to burn all that bandwidth and you will most likely be booted if you used 10% of that on a shared server.

Do you really need 1TB of data transfer/mth? I shiver at the thought of that much data being pushed through a reseller account. :eek2:
