I think it is my job to find every possible bad hosting situation. I am doing quite well so far. Here is the latest bizzaro from the dorks at VAR.

I have been wondering why my site has been slow and somewhat unresponsive at times. I figured it was the usual incredible server load, since it is usually high. I decided to check it and was wondering why it was in the red at at server load of 2. It seemed quite odd since I am paying for an account on a 2 cpu dual core xeon machine. Well guess what? Someone over at VAR/BLUSKY/DATACITES/whomever buys it next month, decided to put all of the resller accounts on a single XEON 2ghz server. I have an extra Dell SC1425 dual xeon 2.8 sitting around, maybe I should let them use it. The moral to this story is, when you think it can't get any worse, they are there to show you how wrong you can be.

The carnival never ends, it just moves on to the next town!

Another varhosting thread, sorry to hear about your rough experience. I think you should look for a new hosting company. Try going through the offers forum on WHT it should be able to give you some leads. And in future try searching a bit about the company before signing up to avoid unneeded headaches.

Good luck with your hosting search :)

Thanks for the words of advice, but March marks my 2nd year at VAR. I signed up when things were just starting the downward spiral. And as far as other hosts, I have been trying, but yet to find a good solution. I would have left sooner, but they disabled backups quite some time ago, so I am unable to get a copy of everything. Every time I try another company, I end up getting there during some problem. I just wanted to let people know that are still with VAR, to check their servers for the bait and switch. As of Feb 24th, I was still on a quad system (Dual, dual cores). I know because of the screenshot of the server load at 427.47... Yes, not a typo 427.47 server load.

Let me just say that my experiences with ResellerZoom are not much better.

That's a shame, sounds like VAR has been having some problems for a while now.

What sort of problems are you experiencing with Reseller Zoom? On the same line as VARH?

Any hosting providers offer free websites transfer can move your sites without the need of backup feature.
