1. Is there a way that would allow us to forward our PM's and/or CC them to an email address, such as our home email addy? This could free up space at WHT as we could clean out our PMs.

2. Please allow us to delete our own posts.

3. As far as thread deletion goes, I'd like to suggest that you allow members to ask for any thread that they started to be removed, but not necessarily adhered to. IOW, the mod would review the request, and if the reason for removable is reasonable versus the time spent by users following up and content, then the mods remove it; otherwise they don't.

3. This is how it works now. If there seems to be a good reason to remove it, we'll do so, however it isn't ask=remove.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. Chicken, what do you think about PM forwarding or allowing us to delete our own posts?

Preventing the deletion of posts by a poster was originally intended to stop later messages being taken out of context and so that posters could not delete any possible incriminating info.... The 'Post Edit' time limit also contributes to this as well.

However, if you do want to delete certain posts, then you can notify one of us and we'll remove it for you (though we keep final discretion as to removing posts).

I don't mind that we can't delete threads and posts. I kinda like that idea. :)

But, I know that more than a couple of people have suggested the ability to download PMs. There's a vB hack that makes it really sweet; as suggested in another thread.

I didn't even know if it was possible, or had already been suggested. Well, at least all of my questions are answered now, 1 by Chicken, 1 by BC, and 1 by SoftwareRevue. Thanks for your responses.

I'm still not sure if I trust a moderator like BC who has a life outside of hosting, and a low post count too. :) I like his sig though.

Welllllll maybe I should artifically inflate it to Chicken-esque proportions. ;) Would that make me more trustworthy?

It wouldn't hurt. :) I'm talking about post size. I have a feeling you're referring to something else. :) :) :)
