Thanks Actually... the most important thing is to know what specs do you expect (bandwith, memory, CPU, etc) and how much do you think you would want to pay for it... That way people can direct you to the right place... cheers, WildWayz 02-15-2001, 11:31 AM For a fairly low budget server, then http://www.*****.com is possibly the cheapest. Dedicated Server 0 - Single Intel Celeron 633 MHz - Unix / Apache OS ** - 128 KB cache - 64 MB RAM - 30 GB ATA/100 - 20 GB a month bandwidth $99 a month or go 1 stage up and get a Dedicated Server 1 - Single Intel Pentium III 600 MHz - Unix / Apache OS ** - 128 KB cache - 64 MB RAM - 30 GB ATA/100 - 50 GB a month bandwidth + get a FREE second server of the same spec (http://www.*****.com/?zone=products/dedicated_hosting) £199 a month I am NOT a reseller of ***** - but I do have a dedicated server with them. I pay $143 a month for a server with 128mb RAM, Celeron 633, 24 IP addresses etc Yeah, their support isn't the best, but once u get to know certain techies they are very helpful. --WildWayz [Edited by WildWayz on 02-15-2001 at 10:34 AM] teck 02-15-2001, 11:34 AM oh no! you said the dreaded word, *****. btw, how fast is the network? get good speeds? WildWayz 02-15-2001, 11:36 AM LOL I know - I have leard loads of bad things about them, but as I said - no problems here. Well, the only problem is they have RedHat 5.2 installed, and I cannot install the latest PHP/MySQL etc onto it (kernal conflicts). Anyway, I have RedHat 6.2 installed tomorrow :) --James |
