I noticed F5hosting is a little cheaper than Ventures Online? How would you compare the two?

Also, F5hosting uses DV2, so does VO have better bandwidth and redundancy, etc?

F5Hosting also appears to load slower than VO to me; even though F5hosting advertises "screaming fast servers".

VO has quality bandwidth and their own data center. VenturesOnline offers a quality service at a reasonable price. Ive been with them for about 9 months and have been very happy.

We have a site hosted as a backup at VO and they have provided great service, only 30 minutes of downtime since we signed up and that was yesterday so they could do some hardware maintenance.

I have no personal experience with F5, however I have with DV2 and it is also a top notch NOC, providing F5 offer the technical support I can't see any problems with them either :)

Who are the providers at VO , does anyone know? I know they use ethernet handoffs and not traditional Ds-3 or Oc-3 connections. Who is giving them these GigE lines?

We also have 2-OC48s in the building from AT&T on redundent loops and we will be pulling off a OC3 from that, ETA is July31.

And we are looking at getting a connection to C&W.

You do get more bandwidth with VO's higher end plans (V350 & V500) compared to F5hostings (Gold & Platinum). Prices and plans are very similar unless you get a "special" from F5hosting.

If you run a popular site where bandwidth is a concern, VO would be the better choice bieng they bill you $4.50 per gig over where as F5 bills you $4 per gig but it's in "blocks of 10", thus as I understand, would cost you $40 if you went over your limit even if you use 1 extra gig.

VO's forums are much more informative and active which to some, is an important factor.

Good luck!
