Does anyone have any reccomdations for cheap dedicated servers?
I don't mean like around $100, i mean like around $50

I want actual user experiences not offers from hosts.

check out www.serveroutsource.net. they have a bargain section that is updated every friday.

there's a nice deal going on there now. but, for $79 a month. which is ok.

i also believe that www.fdcservers.net offer bargain boxes? i might be mistaken there.

i wish there was someone offering a nice solid box with a good amount of bandwidth cheap.

say:

celeron 733 or something comparable
512mb ram
20gb hdd
100 + bandwidth
2 - 6 - 8 IPs
for around $69 - $89.

the serveroutsource deals are as close as i can find, only, their cost to upgrade RAM is ouch. but perhaps one can send in their own stick of RAM and just pay the setup fee...

WTF do you expect to host on a $50 server?

100GB+ of bandwidth for $50 is pushing it in the financial viewpoint of the matter. The provider still has to pay electricity, cooling, hardware, etc. and make profit, asking for a lot of bandwidth will rob them of any profit, making it unworthwhile.

You won't find any dedicated server with quality bandwidth for that price, and in the past you've stated Cogent is crap. Do you want Cogent for this server out of interest?

i think he was making a shot against  hosts, not about thebandwidth :)

I don't think you'll find what you're looking for. But www.fdcservers.net has a bargain low-end server for $49/month. You won't find anything else.

..... Ok you want $50/mo server, and multihomed bandwidth or single homed of higher end providers? Thats getting pretty unrealistic.

I agree, you get what you paid for. If you want quality, you have to pay for it.

What about fastservers.net

Anyone heard about them at all ?
