I would have posted this to the other thread, but it was closed. :(
I thought, how exciting, I can CHAT LIVE with support people!!!! with the new c - i - h - o - s - t web design... so I tried to login to MonsterChat. It said that sales chat is open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
Here's what I got. Note the "Number of techs helping." ;) Now that's the way to keep your customers happy!!!

Could have been worse. :)
Could of had a 54 minute wait for a nonexistant support staffer, instead of a 24 minute wait. :rolleyes:

obviously thier page isnt working properly because it would never know the current wait time if there was no techs working :)

I think that we should all be happy for them - it's always good to hear that major corps are improving... Not not just changing their site design :)

This is really just a minor glitch. They simply forgot to turn the function off when nobody was on duty. It's not that this is proof their support sucks or they are idiots. Whenever you introduce something you always make mistakes, I'm sure even those of you who are knocking them have made at least one mistake in business.

:D Bailey They've always had this feature. I went in to talk with one of them, they had 2 techs helping and 1 person ahead of me, and I still had to wait about 10 minutes. Then when I go in the chat I asked him about unlimited bandwidth, after that he ceased talking to me.

This is soooo funny. It just amazes me that a company the supposed "size" that they are, can't spare a single soul to be online in the middle of the day to be available. What if any of the reputable hosts on this board just up and closed up shop for the holiday? MCHost? SplashHost? Deb at FutureQuest? VO? Can you imagine the hell to pay?!
Consider in contrast, I have been available on my little web hosting biz way more than they for today alone (and likely on average, in the long run, if I had to lay bets), and I don't even get paid a salary. :bawling: Although in fairness to them, it's the first time in three years that I've used a "monster" service and it actually ran. My MonsterTickets always dumped into foo-foo land, and MonsterChat never worked on my accounts....... :rolleyes:
A company the size of C I has no excuses to be making a "mistake" like that (if it was one) and failing to post they are closed for the holiday (if that was the case). There are supposedly people whose express job it is to do customer support, sales support, etc. How I as a one-girl op can be available more (on a holiday no less) while juggling a full-time enterprise and part-time call work, is beyond me.
Did anybody else notice, you can Chat with the CEO from 5-8 p.m. We should all stake out those chats and grill him. :) LOL!

It seems they are using a live support system that doesnt work to there advantage. It should say all offline if no one is online and not let people que in my opinion.

Probably is a random number. Every time I have looked since noticing this post a few days ago there have been 0 staff online.
But they do provide telephone support on a toll free number.

But thats bad luck to international clients of there's as the phone bill would cost more than there hosting accounts worth:(
