I want to have 1 Windows 2k server for DNS, mail, and space. when i get bigger i will expand to more servers.
but...H-Spehere says it needs a Control Panel Server (Linux, freeBSD...but not Win2k as the OS)

Can i run a panel and all my servers off 1 machine with win2k as the OS...or do i need these separate servers?

is there another panel that does not require more servers? i am trying to keep my costs low!

From what I understand, you need to have one FreeBSD or linux server for the control panel. Windows 2000 will not do it. (you can use it, but you need another freebsd or linux server)

There are a few other Windows control panels that do not require multi-server. You can search the forum archive for references.

yes with h-sphere you have to have ATLEAST 1 linux/freebsd server for the control panel.

I have heard bad things about h-sphere. I'll just stick to CPanel/WHM thank you.

I have heard bad things about things. I'll just stick to nothing thank you. :)

(Sorry James, but your comment is so funny and have nothing to do with the thread that I feel like I can indugle myself in a bit of off-topic...)

Show us what the bad things you have heard. In fact, search the forum and you can see all the bad things about CPanel/WHM and probably not even one about HSphere besides that it's just a harder CP to learn.

We moved from CPanel to HSphere and just can't be happier with our decision!

ckpeter is right. You will need a linux/freebsd box for the control panel. you can just get one of those $99 server at rackshack. It will be perfect for that.

I have only used hsphere system in linux environment. Its a great product. We really like it.
