JTGizmo 03-05-2007, 09:47 PM hmmm :( the problem seems to have come back. ok the problem im having is that on my site www.club57.co.uk - im still building it up. however when I enter the address : www.club57.co.uk - , broswer remembers it and offers as first url as predictive text . its all fine, after some surfing around on it and logging in and such - also closed the browser couple of times . And then problem came back I start typing in the address and predictive text doesnt give in browser the www.club57.co.uk address but www.club57.co.uk/? instead. and real one is like 5 lines below, which is anoying . any idea what causes that? or how to fix it>? JTGizmo 03-05-2007, 09:49 PM I had that problem earlier, so what i did is cleaned browse history, and it was fine for some time. but now it came back, i mean url still works with '?' in the end, but i think it might cause problem for google and also might be bit anoying for users.... fastnoc 03-05-2007, 10:01 PM it's not going to hurt anything. it's just a query starter but there's nothing behind it. Truth is, the real url is http://www.club57.co.uk/index.php? but it remembers the ? because you've gone other places on the site, and that part is universal. All pages in your site start with this: http://www.club57.co.uk/? JTGizmo 03-05-2007, 10:08 PM yep - so it will not be a problem for google? as i heard that " Too many querystring parameters can slow down crawling. 2 is ok, 3 is pushing it a bit and 4 or more you will have problems." im just worried about that.... JTGizmo 03-05-2007, 10:21 PM and is there any way to get rid of that '?' from public eye? |
