Whats your opinion on good domains that are available as .NET and .ORG but not available as .COM?
Are they worth going for ? I find myself not bothering to go for a .NET or .ORG if i can get a com for another name.
What you think?

Well, if it really fantastic, then what the heck. I really try to stay away from anything not .com but every now and then I'll come across a decent .net and get it. I don't think I've ever gotten a .org and most likely won't.

I have one .net, beeing section5.net, which I bought because it reminds me of La Femme Nikita (if anybody has Peta Wilson's phone number, please feel free to PM it my way). Also have registered one .org, but it's not for my personal use, but for somebody I know. I do always try to get the .com if I can. Pitty section1.com was taken by some third rate software company that's called BlackBag Software (what the hell does the URL have to do with their company). Section5.com goes to some .htaccess protected site :(

if a domain name contains good keywords then i would definitely get the .net or .org
otherwise if it is a nice sounding name but contains no searched for keywords, i will just stick to .com

I'd have no problem going with the .net or .org considering that the domain name phrase/word had potential.
I was recently forced to register the .net because the .com had been registered for 10 years. (And I really wanted this domain keyword.)

I agree with Chicken -- if the .net name is that good, then go for it (just as long as the .com version of the domain isn't offering the same service as you)
As for .org, I really only use those for non-profit sites.

Actually many commercial companies use the .ORG equivalent if the other TLDs are taken. As far as reselling goes, .ORG domains sell for less.
