They are not the cheapest in town, but they have good service and a reliable network. Alareach 07-04-2002, 02:39 PM I have a few machines with them and am quite happy. As Rackmy stated, not the cheapest in town, but they are reliable and support answers in 1-2 rings anytime I call them. apollo 07-05-2002, 03:03 AM heard only good things about them, plus they have a lot of servers and offer good service roly 07-05-2002, 07:14 AM Cybercon DavidU 07-07-2002, 03:02 PM Didn't Cybercon have a reputation for being pretty spam friendly? What's the current status with that? I'd rather not be hosted on a subnet that is RBL'd or nullrouted from parts of the net. -davidu apollo 07-07-2002, 03:27 PM ouch right... I did find some spam reports for their domain.... zdwebhosting 07-07-2002, 04:17 PM never heard anything about them. inbuco 07-12-2002, 11:42 PM I know they could have done a better job with the domain but I can tell you that we have been with them for some time and are extremely happy. We have a server farm with them and not once have had a major problem. The network is extremely reliable and the support is knowledgeable. We have been with several of the cheaper host and it's just not worth it. If you have the money, go with Cybercon. RossH 07-13-2002, 02:36 AM I live in St. Louis and have visited the cybercon building. They are very nice and have great connections to the internet. I have been on a number of servers there and they have no downtime. If you are looking for St. Louis based companies I can also reccomend: http://www.cyberedge.net/ http://www.verio.com http://www.savvis.net (they have a very very nice data center in St. Louis) http://www.accessus.net edude 07-13-2002, 02:37 AM :agree: savvis :agree: They are also in a good financial situation! RackMy.com 07-13-2002, 12:39 PM They are also in a good financial situation! Not really, they are probably going to run out of money again this year :( Ben5082 07-13-2002, 03:26 PM I've had a dedicated server with them since Dec. 2000. In that amount of time, our server has only gone down once and the downtime was like 10 minutes. Their web admin program is pretty basic and has some problems, but their customer support is excellent. I never got put on hold for support and they respond to trouble tickets very quickly. RossH 07-13-2002, 04:37 PM Originally posted by RackMy.com Not really, they are probably going to run out of money again this year :( Your wroong :) RackMy.com 07-16-2002, 12:13 PM Your wroong Not reeally :) JDMundo 07-16-2002, 12:17 PM Originally posted by RackMy.com Not reeally :) Cybercon or savvis.net? RackMy.com 07-16-2002, 12:25 PM Savvis, not Cybercon. Cybercon does very well :) JDMundo 07-16-2002, 12:27 PM Gotcha, just wanted to make it clear for people jumping into the middle of this thread and only seeing the subject and that they're about to go down in flames. :) Trustme 09-28-2002, 08:15 PM Cybercon.com is too Good if one has to find a reliable host with very good support and if money is not the only criteria to find a host. They donot offer $99 servers but trustme their service is out of the world and saves you lot of money which one may loose due to clients leaving you for other companies. I have been with them from last 3 years and actually they helped me learn and not only this they actually supported me so good that sometimes I used to feel as if I have my own hired staff with them. There customer services is too good 24 hours a day and unlike many companies who claim that they are fanatic about support this company supports you too good. The only reason I am writing this for them is that I find it morally bounding that I should put few words of praise for them for the help they have given me at times. Although they are not a most popular company among masses but still they have 1000+ servers as told to me by them. Now before completing I will write few words of appreciation about their staff members who are very nice human beings and always helping you. I believe that their company head has to be a nice and honest person because how else all of them working their are good at heart and always helping you as if they are also being effected if you find yourself in a problem. For me their staff members namely Paul, Rob, Dave, Don, Badia, Mark, Chu and Mr.Josh are most respectful persons as they really worked hard for me and give the word service its true meaning. All companies have customers who have different opinion about them but I will rate this company as being 99% + good in doing ethical business and offering great hosting support except the fact that their bandwidth is expensive. Before leaving I once again believe that like their support they will soon introduce a control panel/interface on Windows (normally they offer their own home made versions of control panels due to the reason that they can support it at all the times.) Lastly for all those who wish to choose a hosting company you can trust me for the fact that in 1997-1998(starting) I was not even aware what is a computer and what is windows and when I ventured into this bandwagon, cybercon taught me many things and me being totally from marketing now has some little knowledge and presently handling thousands of customers all due to cybercons help and dedication towards their customers. UH-Matt 09-28-2002, 08:56 PM Im thinking of opening CyberSCAM think it would take off ? :) MGCJerry 09-28-2002, 11:11 PM *sigh* Another thread rises from the ashes... :D DavidU 09-28-2002, 11:13 PM seriously...this is SOOOO dead. -davidu netdude 09-28-2002, 11:15 PM heh... they are bloody freakin' huge... :) they host sites like dawn.com and entangled web... they are known for being spam friendly as well, which kind of messed up legit business in the sense that your mail won't nessecarily get delivered if its being routed through an IP on the cybercon network (depending on if the recipient is using RBL lists, and which ones they are using, to filter spam)... additionally, they are very warez friendly because of their affiliation with entangled web... who is like the most high profile warez webhost out there... heh DavidU 09-28-2002, 11:29 PM This thread is not only dead now...it's rehashing things already mentioned... I might just cry. well, here's *1* to my post count. :-) -davidu Cybercon 05-06-2003, 09:02 AM Spam friendly? No, I have been with the company for several months, and trust me, if management finds out someone is spamming from our network they freak out. The problem lies when customers get a dedicated server for " legit reason A" and turn around and use it for "illegit reason b" RackMy.com 05-06-2003, 09:59 AM 09-29-2002 Nothing like digging up an old thread :) Cybercon 05-06-2003, 10:01 AM yea this thread is ancient. but for sake of tieing up loose strings I thought it would be a good idea to stick up for the spam friendly statement. |
