MrRadic 03-02-2007, 11:47 AM FileZilla would be your best bet. http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/ bithost(NET) 03-02-2007, 11:49 AM Have you tried the FTP Extension for Firefox? Saw it the other night -- it looks quite intriguing. :) :D Bailey leckley 03-02-2007, 11:58 AM Smartftp is another good alternative if you find you dont like filezilla. You can get them both at download.com Also, if you think you may want to buy one, cuteftp is the choice, the best ftp software i have used yet. Has 30 day trial too. Lane BurakUeda 03-02-2007, 12:04 PM Happily using ALFTP (http://altools.net), fast easy and free... Also their zip tool is alot better than winzip and winrar Patrick67 03-02-2007, 12:35 PM Smartftp is another good alternative if you find you dont like filezilla. Lane Don't you just edit the Reg. and reset your 30day trial Lane? LOL J/K.. Mother David 03-02-2007, 12:42 PM I definitely second filezilla. Best FTP application ever! yourserving 03-02-2007, 12:51 PM WinSCP is really nice AND secure. leckley 03-02-2007, 01:06 PM Don't you just edit the Reg. and reset your 30day trial Lane? LOL J/K.. Mother HAHA Whats up man. Lane Easyspace 03-02-2007, 01:11 PM Fairly easy to find a free one, the most commonly used in our office right now: SmartFTP - Solid, reliable, been around for a good number of years. Time limited trial which does not "expire" however leaves a popup every time you load it up. Decent interface which is easy to understand - also Queued downloads make large files easier to manage. Filezilla - Similar functionality to Smart, very reliable and a favourite in the office here. FireFTP - Ideal if your a Firefox user, plugs in a neat little application straight to your browser, you can also tell it to load the "ftp://" url type automatically. Snowroses 03-02-2007, 02:33 PM Thanks everyone! I have found what I needed. Good to know those are out there! leckley 03-02-2007, 02:36 PM Glad you found what you are looking for. lane Archbob 03-02-2007, 03:08 PM I still use the ancient LeechFTP. ServerNinja 03-02-2007, 03:21 PM Fliezilla is a great one chuckworld 03-02-2007, 04:44 PM So which one did you choose? Fed83 03-02-2007, 04:46 PM Filezilla, I love it buyculla 03-02-2007, 04:54 PM used to be good until they released a new version (8 or 9..I dont remember). and it is not even free now. I use FileZilla now. DaKine 03-02-2007, 05:07 PM I have not used the FTP client from http://coffeecup.com in a long time but it used to be pretty good. aspis 03-02-2007, 08:21 PM The Coffee Cup FTP client I believe is called cuteFTP, used to use that ages ago. I use firezilla and smartFtp and like both of them equally :) ldcdc 03-02-2007, 09:20 PM Filezilla is indeed nice. chaos0784 03-02-2007, 10:07 PM Filezilla is awesome, as it can do SFTP, and a whole lot of other cool things. FireFTP is an excellent package. I have it myself, and use it frequently becaue it's convenient. The only problem is that queing lots of files is hard, but that is a bit complicated for it I think. I am curious what you chose. NeoGen 03-03-2007, 12:24 AM I use FTP Commender, can be found here: http://www.internet-soft.com/ftpcomm.htm lslars31 03-03-2007, 02:21 AM If you have a mac, transmit is good. It is a full featured trial with no trial period as far as I have found. Wierd I know... transops 03-03-2007, 09:54 AM SmartFTP - Solid, reliable, been around for a good number of years. Time limited trial which does not "expire" however leaves a popup every time you load it up. Just for some clarity - the popup is not an ad but rather a "reminder" that you can purchase the software. I highly recommend SmartFTP. It does have it's issues from time to time but it's nothing major. homer2 03-04-2007, 09:22 PM I use Filezilla too. Never had any problems with it. Googled 03-05-2007, 12:52 AM Have you tried the FTP Extension for Firefox? Saw it the other night -- it looks quite intriguing. :) :D Bailey I couldn't agree more ! G nikola8 03-05-2007, 09:22 AM my vote for filezilla BannersCorner 03-05-2007, 03:32 PM Smart FTP is my choice. Easy to use. cherdre 03-06-2007, 01:39 AM I recommend Smart FTP as well. blazwww 03-06-2007, 11:50 AM I use WS_FTP 777 03-09-2007, 10:43 AM I'm a FileZilla fan too! But you can use IE as well. Manish Gori 03-09-2007, 12:18 PM 'Total commander', works for me. |
