Hi, recently i moved from shared hosting to a VPS. Since its a VPS, I had to first register the new servers and then registered my website to these new nameservers.

The DNS change propogated within 48 hours and the website moved to the new VPS. However there is still a small section of visitors who complained that they are still seeing the pages present on my old host. Almost a month has passed and yet the problem persists. And this problem is not due to old files being cached on their browsers. Refreshing the browser had no effect, they said.

What is the reason and what can i do to solve it.

Maybe you like to provide your domain name so I can do some check for you :)

check it from www.dnsstuff.com and www.dnsreport.com

if it resolves correctly then there is nothing you can do from the users side as its ther ISP's dns resolvers cache which you can't control except waiting.

what you can do is make the old host point to temp page till the cache from their end resolves.

also on windows you can do
Start -> run -> cmd -> ifconfig /flushdns
sometimes it helps

Ask your users if they can find out what resolving name servers they are using.
These systems either have it cached for a long period of time OR they are using name servers that also have your domain configure in it (an authoritative name server).

That might also be it. An inidividual IP address used together by 2 people may give you errors in you network.
