For a Windows Server, which would you recommend? Helm or Plesk? Which one takes up more resources? Which one has more features? Thanks!

Thanks! tanfwc 03-01-2007, 07:43 PM I vote for HELM. For the resource, it depends on how many software you are running. andre3 03-01-2007, 07:49 PM i vote for helm also its a 2 hands up.......... That Guy 03-01-2007, 07:57 PM Thanks...but could you tell me why you choose Helm over Plesk? TCP/IP Warrior 03-01-2007, 08:29 PM As angry that I am at HELM for putting out a "paid BETA" version, I can say from having used both that HELM spanks the crap out of Plesk. Thanks...but could you tell me why you choose Helm over Plesk? One word: CONTROL! HELM is really friendly in the sense that you can upgrade individual applications (Smartermail for example) without choking on it's own puke. Helm is also a lot friendlier towards your resellers in my opinion. FInally, it costs less to have the control server run multiple remotes that buying a Plesk license for each and then having to pay for Plesk Expand on top of it. Cheers! That Guy 03-01-2007, 08:32 PM Hm...thanks guys. So far Helm has 3 votes and Plesk doesn't have any, but why? What does Helm have that Plesk doesn't? Which one takes more resources (assuming both are at the same state ie same # of customers with same # of activity)? TCP/IP Warrior 03-01-2007, 08:35 PM Less resources? I vote HELM again... since you can CHOOSE what gets installed. :) That Guy 03-02-2007, 12:13 AM Thanks for your reply! :) Any others have any experience with both? |
