View Full Version : Seeking Advice On An Issue With PD

Hello Everyone,

Over the course of the past 2 days, I have been speaking with Tim, Owner of Paradise-Designs about retrieving data from 2 of my websites on one

of his servers. Since talking with him, it seems that I am getting no where fast, I have yet to receive even the smallest amount of either website

backups and I need them as soon as possible.

The two domains that I am needing all data from are vbulletingraphics.com and vbulletintemplates.com. vBGFX sells graphics mainly targeted at the

vBulletin audience, but nonetheless, I am losing money from not having the website up and running (not to mention current customers are not so happy that they can not access anything, ie: their purchased files).

vBT is a community that I run targeted at vbulletin's templates, also known as a template modification resource. Before both websites went down,

vBT had a strong growing member base of 220+ members in only 3-4 days (currently I am losing members from this incident as well).

I know that Tim has and still is having problems with CPanel, so I have no way to access these files as I do not have root access to the server or

anything. He claims the server to be down and that it has been shut off from the switch, although I have not proof of that at this time. The server in which the files/websites are being hosted on are mustang.nocservers.net. The data/content and MySQL backups are very important and, if not retrieved, could very well place and end to both websites (in the end, costing me a good deal).

Tim and I had arranged so that both sites would be sponsored by PD (Paradise-Designs.net), but I see no reason why I should not be able to retreive my data when needed. The current server they are on has been down for 4 days, going on 5 days withouth CPanel and without service.

I have run out of ideas on what to do and am seeking help from anyone here. I need those backups and soon, I do not want to close either of the sites down as they are one reason I am able to pay my bills.

I would appreciate your comments and feedback on this issue, even the smallest bit of advice helps.

Regards,

Jonathan T.

well i am sorry to her about your troubles with PD but i think they would be the only ones able to get your backups. Did they give a reason as to why they wouldnt get you a copy of them?

I am sorry to hear this tragedy. I am not sure what you can do as to getting back your data. Even if Tim decided not to turn up that server again, I don't think there is anything you can do as to pursue this legally. If only you had made a regular backup of your mysql (most important), none of this could ever happened. As of now, all you can do is to hope that mustang.nocservers.com will be tunr on. Doing some traceroute shows that the nocservers.com is located at BursNet so perharps you can call BurstNet and explain your situation and hoping BurstNet will help you out here.

Good luck and I wish you all the best

As above, he claims the server is down, although has been down for the past 4 (ongoing 5) days and it does not seem like anything is being done....

I'm with the other two -- try contacting BurstNET directly and explaining your situation to them. Burst has great support, and they may be understanding. It seems clear that Tim is being of no help in this situation.

Oh well. I guess this is a just a rough reminder that it always makes sense to backup your own data :(

My data had been being backed up as I was running a Cron Job to do it, but somehow it was deleted and since has not been running.

I would hope that they would be able to help, at this time, they are about my only hope unless Tim decided to let me have the backups.

If they did not contain customer data, I would not be so much in need of them but they do and they are needed greatly.

Hello,
I have just returned from back out again.. I'm getting ahold of the Data Center to find out what is going on with the server. You will then beable to access your backups as well as your site.

At this time, Tim has granted me access to the backups and I am working to get them up at this very moment. Thank you all for your suggestions and thanks Tim for letting me retrieve the much needed backup files.

A moderator may close or remove this topic at this time as my request for my site backups has been filled.

I don't believe the server in question is among his servers at Burst.
