My server was very slow since i had lots of active connections to images found on my site .. My site is of a Myspace resource site.

I have now moved some of the images offsite in the hope that the server can be a bit faster .. But now when i have removed the images , there will be like a mass number of of 404 errors since the images are no longer there .. , ie people will tend to click on the error image on Myspace.

Will this high number of 404 errors slow down my site now?

It won't slow it down half as much as it would with all the images there, a 404 error requires no image generation cpu usage etc.

Ok thanks .. about the routes the 404 links takes , wont it slow down the server ?
