I have zero experience with any Linux/Unix OS and I've only looked at the demo of DirectAdmin. I am a C++ programmer and a web developer though so I should not have a problem learning any OS. Which OS of these do you recommend with DirectAdmin on a dedicated server and why?
RedHat Fedora 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
RedHat CentOS 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 (64-bit: 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 only)
FreeBSD 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 4.10, 4.11, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.2.1, 5.3, 5.4, 6.0, 6.1
DirectAdmin requirements state: "processor *must* be x86 compatible. Also, 64-bit OS's are not supported at this time."
The server's processor is 2.6 GHz Celeron D. It is confusing that it says some 64-bit OS's are fine on the CentOS part and below it, it invalidates the claim.
