So, I got all excited.
I was going to use Google Aps for my Fire Department's web siite.
When it came to setting up Google Aps Premium, I found it on;y includes 1 account for $50/year.

Can anyone suggest a group mail suggestion (about 200 accounts. 5 departments undere one 'Bureau of Fire')

Of course we're a volunteer Fire Department and have no money.

(I want to stay away from cPanel mail stuff, I'm trying to keep this as easy for everyone as possible)

Have you considered setting up a Google Group or Yahoo group maybe?

google's hosted domain email looks like it's still free for standard accounts.

http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/admins/editions.html

try signing up for the free version. ask for five hundred user accounts.

google offers a useful "start page" that you can customize.

but the department's web page can be anywhere. google can run the email while any ole webhost has the webpage, if that's how you want it.

Since you are low on budget, Google Apps (Standard Edition) is probably the right to fit your needs. :agree:

I wouldn't recommend, however, www.group-mail.com (http://www.group-mail.com), for the only reason - it is not free (lowest price option is about $100).

Top of the day to you :)
