HostPro: I had good server performance, but average tech support and a bad experience with the sales department.

HalfPriceHosting: I think the fellow who runs this outfit posts here on a somewhat-regular basis; I have no first-hand experience but I believe they have a good reputation

what does this mean
bandwidth ? , Size ?,
any help would be great
as I have a few accounts with Hostpro (from vserver days)
and was looking at site5 and ventures online for Unix hosting
still deciding on a backup for asp stuff
or if Matt would like to comment ??

I can only comment about Halfpricehosting.com. If you go with them you will lose lots of customers, prematurely grey, become hoarse from screaming, and have homicidal thoughts that involve driving/flying to their NOC. The techs are ok, the company is miserable. Billing is a joke. We learned a tremendous amount from hosting with them (none of it good). They are the single largest reason we went dedicated about 18 months ago. I could not give a worse review (though I have heard some worse horror stories around here!).

Kinda old but I went with Fuitadnet.com Free webhosting. (a freind of mine runs it) So everything is going great and the best part is its free which is a big money saver... I make donations though.

I have an account with HostPro. They're really great. However, we are searching for alternative hosts right now in case anything happens. They just got merged with Interland, and I DONT like my Interland experience.

Skip Halfpricehosting.com - They suck! I have had a few customers who have used them and I have personally experienced bad support with them. It is also hard to contact them sometimes.

Really it doesn't matter, other than the fact that I always doubt the thread starters fo these threads are still looking. Who knows though, they could be as slow as I am when looking for providers :D
