Anyone know of any worth checking out?

I think it is something you can barely appraise so what they tell you is extremely limited in worth. You can go by waht something sold for that is similar, but your sale could very well be more or less depending on how badly someone wants it at the time.

Then what venue do people use to advertise to sell domain names on, eBay? Or is there a better way?

Why not just pick a number out of thin air? Judging by the "this-domain-has-been-appraised-at" prices people advertise, that's what most apprasial services do.

As long as I know,

register yourself at afternic.com, and then you may ask some help to the other members to appraise your domain name.
It's free..and their paid service let you list your domain name into their database.
