So I sign up for an account at Virtuoso Net solutions on recommendation from a friend.

I was in a hurry for a hosting plan and neglected to check WHT before signing up...

I signed up quickly because it says on the FAQ page that they set up accounts within 10 to 15 minutes....well, 10 minutes passed, 15, 25....after half an hour, I opened a support ticket to ask what the problem was:

Hello, I signed up for your hosting service at 2:35pm and my credit card has already been billed, yet the time is now
3:20pm and I have not yet received my account information.

If there has been trouble with the email could you please re-send it or give me an estimate of the account activation time?

Well, SIX HOURS later, I receive this wonderful little message:

You need to wait patiently if you do not mind.
You waited less than an hour before opening this,
yet today is a national holiday

six minutes later, I get this:

What kind of low class idiot are you that you'd sign up
with the password "____________"? I assume you are an *******.
Take your business somewhere else.

Yet he conveniently "forgot" to refund my CC with the charges. Well, I reply to him (trying to keep it somewhat polite)....paraphrasing from my message since I can't access it anymore.

Your FAQ page says 10-15 minutes.

Try not to lie to your customers if you have such a short temper.

Issue a refund of my charges.

His again lovely reply:

Grow up an find a new hobby. Your a complete moron
and this has nothing to do with temper. It has
to do with you being a mindless idiot

And now I'm blocked from accessing his server. I went in through a proxy and he has deleted my billing account yet has not refunded my CC yet.

The address listed for his company is

43 Muncey Rd
Bay Shore, NY 11706

Is there some kind of business bureau in that city that I might contact regarding this scam??

Who knows if it was the owner who wrote that, although the owner is responsible for it. Give a few days for the refund to post. Afterwards you can always do a chargeback. More information on the company:

hdezela,

Due to how you were treated I'd strongly suggest keeping any correspondence you've had with virtuoso in case your credit card company requests proof of payment and non-delivery.

I can't believe it. The posts and messages you have received are just... so .... Can't find the right word.

You should follow's jschurawlow 's advice and keep correspondence. Obviously you will get a refund from your bank upon presenting the emails.

Absolutely. After a few days if the refund does not post, proceed with the charge back using the documented communications.

You could also file a complaint with the BBB. It won't help you much, but it may someone else who is considering doing business with this company. http://www.newyork.bbb.org
