Hmmm i think this should be in here......im not offering it for sale
I just bought www.dizzyhost.com after posting a question in the lounge.
What do you think of it and what do you think it could be worth if i ever sold it. I have tried those appraisal sites but that relies too much on your own opinion.
I also have a noter question about domain speculators, the peopel who buty hundereds of doamins with the hope of selling them on.................how do they know what sort of names to look for?

I'm sure what to tell you about the value of your name, but when you purchase domain names with the intent to sell them, there are some basic things to look for (in no particular order):
1. Link Popularity
visit Marketleap.com
2. Type in Traffic
visit http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
to determine how many people searched for that word or words.
3. Overall popularity
visit Alexa.com
This is what I usually check on every domain name that I am considering.
I usually check www.archive.org to see if the website was previously developed and what type of business they provided. I hope this helps some. You may also want to visit dnforum.com for more info.

Stay tuned, very soon you will have answers to several of your questions :) In the meantime, ask yourself "why did I register that domain"?
If you did in order to develop, fair enough. If you registered it for selling then what is your target market?

Thanks for the links and advice :)
i registered the name to develop

as an undeveloped domain, i dont think it could be sold for more than the cost of registration.
think of what the word "dizzy" conjures up, head spinning, about to collapse, not exactly the type of image you would want to associate with web hosting.

Hostjet i agree, thats why i wasnt sure whether to buy it but it can also be translated as dizzy hosting at dizzy prices, i posted about it in the lounge and they talked me into it lol.
I have got a good rep with my other company so i am hoping to develop this into a good company too.

You just have to find the right angle and it could work. Think of the things that make you dizzy... spinning, speed, etc. If you play on the speed aspect, something like a phrase under the URL in the header of:
"Speeds so fast... <insert clever last part>"
Association could make it work. Obviously if you associate it with having too many drinks (read: bed spins, heh), then you've got problems. I think you can make it work if you get creative.
