I need a template for a legal contract that will stipulate the sale of my clients. Had a look at hostlegal.com but nothing that I can use.

why don`t you hire a lawer who would draw a contract and include all necessary clauses? I am not sure that there are samples of contracts for selling hosting customers nowadays

Yes, getting your own lawyer to create this for you is the best bet. Chances are there will be things that set your company apart from other businesses, so for that reason it's best not to use a generic legal contract.

Obviously getting a lawyer would be ideal, but that costs money remember? Lawyers charge a pretty penny ;) The goal here is to get something for free or cheap :)

I can help you out HostingExperts, I have some past contractual layouts for the sale of clients that I could share with you.

If you can, A lawyer is the way to go, Or you could write one and have them check it, that would be slightly cheaper. Otherwise your going to be increasing the amount of risk.

Unless the amount of the sale is less than the amount you can afford to lose, you really need to hire an attorney. Otherwise, just write up a paper that says who gets what and for what price and have both parties sign it. It probably won't hold much weight in court, should things go sour, but that's the price you pay when you do something cheap as opposed to correctly.

One way you can go to save some money is to have a para legel write the papers for you. This will be much cheaper than what the attorney will charge.

Or write it yourself and have a para legal go over it to make sure it protects you. This will not cost that much at all.

Not the most ideal or as good as an actual attorney but it would get the job done.

We typically draft our own agreements and just give them to the attorney for his review and approval. There's nothing wrong with doing this and it does save quite a bit of money.

Also, you could have the other party's attorney draft up the documents and have your attorney look them over. That way, 99% of the legalese will be done ahead of time...saving you $$$.
