View Full Version : Don't Deal With Tara Springs!!!
Zesty Web Design 02-14-2007, 08:04 AM Tara Springs are the worst hosting company that I have ever had. I recently bought a master reseller account with them, and I sold some reseller hosting accounts on eBay and they terminated my account for absolutely no reason, which meant that it terminated all my resellers accounts as well. I emailed them repeatedly with no reply. The people that I sold hosting to were very unhappy that they had lost all their data, then I had the difficult situation of explaining what had happened. Some people requested refunds meaning that I lost out when it wasn't my fault. All the other accounts I had to transfer on to a new master reseller account that seems ok at the moment. Along with this was emailing everyone to change their nameservers. Overall I am very dissatisfied with Tara Springs so you should AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Did you get their hosting from ebay?

Zesty Web Design 02-14-2007, 08:19 AM Thanks for your reply, I found the hosting on their website after searching google.
Thanks,
Ian
Can you please send some of your domains hosted with them? You can send it via this link: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/report.php?p=4363541
Also, why they terminated your account? There should be a reason why.

tsj5j 02-14-2007, 08:49 AM According to the poster, there seems to be no reason.
My guess is that they're overselling and don't want users to be too active.
Zesty Web Design 02-14-2007, 12:41 PM Hi, thanks for your reply all the domains that were hosted with Tara Springs have now been transferred to new a hosting company, therefore I can not show you any of the accounts on their service. I have no idea why they terminated my account, they didn't give any notification of why this was and didn't reply to any of my emails asking why they terminated it. As a tsj5j suggested they might have been overselling the hosting. It seems like a big con to me as their site tarasprings.co.uk has suddenly been down for maintenence just after this happened. When I explained to my customers what had happened one said that he had previously had problems with them too and they replyed to his emails at first, then just ignored them. They then finally terminated his account.
Kindest Regards,
Ian
Martie 02-14-2007, 12:41 PM I havent heard that name before. New company possibly?
Zesty Web Design 02-14-2007, 12:48 PM Hi, I have just checked the Whois database and it seems like they registered their domain on 03-May-2006.
It also seems like they don't trust their own servers, because they have changed their nameservers over to
someone else.
Cheers,
Ian
RSNET-John 02-14-2007, 01:18 PM Sorry to hear about all of your troubles. Who did you end up switching to?
Zesty Web Design 02-14-2007, 01:47 PM The company that I switched to are called stiletto web design, they have proved very reilable in the past few weeks and have a good customer support team, who always seem ready to help. I am on a monthly billing cycle so they have to keep me happy or I can stop paying, (which seems a better option to me).

RSNET-John 02-14-2007, 02:11 PM Sounds like a solid company, good luck with them!

Can't share the domain names?
How do you even know they terminated your accounts without any communication from them?
Zesty Web Design 02-15-2007, 03:30 PM Hi, I shared some of the domain names with the admin but to keep my clients annominity I have chosen not to post them on the forum as I don't have their permission to do so and it might give them a bad name/reputation.
I know that they terminated my accounts because, I can't get on their control panel with my username and password and none of my clients could. Also all of the websites that were hosted with them show a cannot find server message. As their site is not up and they haven't responded to a paypal dispute (or emails), I would have thought that it was a con and they terminated my account.
Jamson 02-17-2007, 06:52 AM I bought an account from them in the past (like 4 or 5 months ago, before i opened Exphoster) and it got terminated in 2 days.. don't trust them.
Very sorry to hear that!
I have also problems but my customers are still up and running

Thank you, and confirmed :)
seolio 02-27-2007, 11:08 AM I bought a reseller hosting package about 1 month ago and about 2 weeks ago all of my customers websites went down?
And, guess what, they have dissapeared, not offering me any time to back up any sites and move them, not replying to emails etc... Not very helpful at all.
I had already noted their customer service phone number, and it really is helpful, it is a recorded message that tells you to email them, which I had already done about 10 times.
This has cost me 23 customers as they have moved elsewhere, and I lost my websites (hosting and web design); yet they don't seem to care. In total this has cost me around about £175 in refunds, so I am now, in my new business -£175
I am now with heart internets unlimited reseller package as I know they will not leave me high and dry because they have been around a long time, and they guaranteed me a 99.9% uptime. Which I am happy with and so far I have not had the slightest problem with their service.
It costs a bit extra than what I was paying, but worth it as I have changed hosting companies (transferred all mine and customers websites and databases) 3 times already this year. I am about sick and tired of, so I am paying more now, hopefully it stays as good as it has been.

Ben James 02-28-2007, 07:08 PM i had the same issue with tara springs i was not ammused when they did not respond to my numerous emails then they just disapered!

I cant comment on the company you are with now as I know nothing about them, however I would be wary of so called unlimited packages as there will be a limit somewhere down the line as bandwidth and hard drive space do not come cheap. Just a word of warning.
